Melee question?

I recently started leveling a second team with 2 melee dps and 2 ranged dps. i have CTM set to be on for the slaves and off for the master and IWT bound to the 1,2,3 keys in isboxer. When I attack a mob sometimes my melee dps will move to the target and stand still while they attack which is what I would expect. Other times they will run in circles around the target while attacking. Occasionally they will take off running in random directions and I have to have follow strobe on to keep them from going to far away.

Is this normal melee action or are there any settings I need to change in isboxer or wow?

I run an all melee group. What you describe is normal. What I have done to sort of mitigate this is to have every 5th button press in a "spam" rotation be an IWT. That way if they do run at least they will not get very far and attack the target as intended. IF they stand still at first this "spam" also gets them to attack. Basically I use IS and set up the keys to do dps,dps,dps,dps,iwt over and over. Works well.

How did you set it up so every 5th was an IWT? I mainly use 1,2,3 for dps but 1 is the "I win" key utilizing /click macros and IWT as step 2 in ISboxer, I'm not positive how I would make it work for only every 5th button press.

Other times they will run in circles around the target while attacking.

I sometimes get that on my toons when picking a flower or using a portal.
I click the flower from afar, the toon moves to it and instead of picking it up it starts twirling around it. I then just have to move the toon and click the flower/portal/item again and it works fine
Happens when playing solo as well.
Not sure if it's the same you're experiencing though

I copied the FTL DPS Keybind section in ISboxer and pasted and renamed Melee.

Under the first 3 DPS keys 1-3 i added a second step to interact with Target.
Then put my Melee toons under that Melee Keybindings.

This way when i use a mixed team i dont have casters trying to interact with target and interrupting their casting.

If you do decide to do this. Just make sure you add this new key binding set to your General Keymaps on and off hotkey.

So I seemed to have fixed the problem, what i did was borrow the suggestion above about hitting iwt every 5th time. I added a bunch of steps to my "DPS 1" key now my isboxer steps are 1,IWT,1,1,1,IWT,1,1 so I'm sending IWT once every 4 releases and 1 the rest of the time. I still have CTM on all the slaves and use an ATG group for the melee so I don't have to have seperate dps keymaps.

I set my mouse scroll wheel for scroll up = IWT scroll down = move backwards. The action is so fast that your characters do not actually move so it works great as a stop moving keypress. I just spam the wheel up and down quick for positioning while my other hand is free to do my rotations.
