I didn't read much of the thread, but I like seeing people say things like this
If it's 5 characters controlled by 1 person using 5 keyboards/mice/monitors and no macros, then I'm fine with it. If it's 5 characters controlled by 1 person with macros and 3rd party software to broadcast commands to all characters on one computer, that I have a problem with.

All anyone would have to do to skirt this type of rule is exactly what Kromtor did in the highly publicized EVE multiboxing debacle -- dowels, popsicle sticks, etc. The only thing this rule would accomplish is to give the advantage to people with a lot more money to burn on hardware.
