    Default LoB vs DiT segregation

Hi guys, as you know I am one of the longest LoB members out here. I was here with Fur when it was just 4 or 5 of us.

I love LoB, and I will never change guilds or gameplay, I really enjoy you guys.

I am very happy we have the DiT guys infused into our guild as well, and Svper is a great GL now that Fur has rescinded his position.

There has been a trend to refer to events, and activities within the guild and outside of raid activities referred to as <DiT> events, this is a bit misleading and exclusionary.

I Just want to shed some light on concerns I have heard a few times from members of the guild.

    Best regards,

    -Dan

You are welcome, I am only saying that referring to the guild as DiT may be a bad thing.

when you plan guild events that are outside of the context of your raiding group, it may be better to use the guilds name you are in as opposed to your raid group.

There's no reason to rage on me and gquit. We are all more mature than that.

I am merely seeing some of the concerns I have heard over the past 6 months from other people now and I understand, so I wanted to shed some light on it.

This is my job as an officer, and as someone who really likes the guild. Relax.

Guild events should be and only be LoB. If they get labeled as DiT then that is incorrect. DiT is ONLY for designation as a raid team. We kept it as when we first arrived there was already a pseudo raid schedule that Fur was running and while we could have made a LoB 2 it made more sense to just stick with the DiT designation considering most of the members were from the original DiT guild. A lot has changed since then and many attempts made to grow the raid team beyond a single 10man, we just haven't had any luck doing that.

I am not sure why people are using DiT outside of the progression raid group so maybe we can just call it an oops and correct that usage. I am proud to have Legion of Boom under my name and look forward to any and all guild events as such.

^^ This. I try to separate the usage because there is a difference. I don't meant o exclude anyone from DiT events, when we label an event as DiT, it's typically because it's a progression / hard mode run which is where you'll see me say in guild chat "DiT Needs X for Y". This is the raid group being short someone for some reason and we need a geared fill in. A lot of the time we don't even take a geared fill in, or don't get a response from the guild. That's perfectly fine. Legion of Boom is not a raiding guild, I can't reasonably expect to pull a ICC10 geared alt out of it. But even if I take Kicksome, and gear him up even more than what he's done on his own, or if we snag Souca, it's a matter of seriousness that we're trying to imply we want for the run.

I haven't been able to get the guild to do anything event wise. I've tried to do boxing raids, but I don't do well when we talk about doing something and the time comes to do it, and no one is online, or those that are aren't interested. That isn't exactly motivating for the person trying to run the event / raid / whatever. I've tried setting up another raid team, because we're constantly having people ask to raid, but no one wants to commit. And that's fine. It's a multiboxing guild, most are multiboxing because they want to play on *their* schedule and not commit to anything. But that leaves a lot of people our in the wind. This is the reason I'm fanatical about DiT. It gives those who want to see content the chance to do so.

There shouldn't be any segregation, which is why we all have the same guild tag. DiT is successful because we hold it's members to a certain standard and we refuse to accept anything less. LoB is successful because the people make it worth logging in everyday. Dozens of boxers didn't flock to this server just because they could. They wanted to be with other boxers, and that's what makes LoB successful in it's own way.

I'm not going to spark up again, and I'm not going to beat a dead horde..

I'll just say, knowing the original context of the post.. this still would have been better treated as a mistake, that could easily have been corrected by talking to the person who made the mistake. Blanket statements made towards an entire "sub-group" are unnecessary, and they never work. Officer Duties or not.. there are more tactful ways to handle things like this.. and if it's been going on as long as it has been stated.. then it should have been addressed a long time prior to this. Bottling up problems, and letting them fester is no way to fix problems in guild. We're more mature than that.

It kinda felt like DiT was the cool kids group and I was at the losers table. GC just became another general chat after that. I'm not mad about it, not gonna quit and rage. I obviously cannot make consistent raid times. Just resigned to my lot in life, lol.

DiT was a cool kids group and I can appreciate how hard it is to penetrate a group like that, that's why we ALL joined the guild, and had very little outside (guild chat) communication because we wanted people to feel welcome. I'm sorry you felt that way and I urge you to give the people another shot. The DiT crew has always been tight knit and close. My hope would be all of LoB or at least most would eventually be the same way.
