Thats a joke you get almost nothing from it from what I see. You get a sure gem from a tansmute you get most junk from the icy prism. Also it dosnt benifit from specilization like transmutes or tailor does.

Tailor in cata if there are cloth cool downs seems a lot better to me, if gold is yur goal.

I have one JC and all the profit he makes is from cutting jems. You have to buy a LOT of ore just to get him his recipies if you dont do dailies.

Im going Alch on all then some tailors (least one of each specilzation, probably more), a few that make the titansteel bars, and one of each other. Who ever left going Enginering for PvP / PvE.

Im up to like 140K (and I started with zero and have only 9 alch right now) and will make more now that I got most of the JC recipies out of the way. Thats mainly by selling gems and the high end armors, all types.
Tailoring has no "specialty" in cataclysm, meaning you get 6 maximum per toon. Also they must be made in specific areas of the game that unless you are level 78 you cannot get to safely and would be quite a hassle to summon all of them there.

I'd bet that cloth would be worth around the same (200g) per, maybe less so now that it is a single type that every tailor can make 6 of (thus mastery gone). The math for this is as follows

Stack of cloth = ~ 15g or more
Each 10 motes = 15 gold or more likely other than earth

    So you are looking at... 30 * 6 * 40 = 7200 motes alone which is ~ 10k gold
Then you have cloth which for all the bolts necessary. It requires 2 stacks of cloth per toon per cloth
    40 * 30 * 6 = 7200g

    Total cost is about 14kg
    Total profit: 200 * 40 * 6 = 48000 48k-14k = 34k

I fail to see how after costs a profit of 34k, and after costs a profit of 80+k is better. Not to mention to supply as many toons as i am with "dropable" items will be far more a pain in the ass then paying people to farm ore for me.

Also keep note that even the brilliant glass model yields over 30k gold more, which is nearly double the gold that tailoring makes. Also keep in mind that flipping ore alone will yield a profit of over 100k.

I will not have 1 JC toon, i will have at least 15 to 20 at 78 ready to do the JC dailys. That means on day 1 I get 20 cuts(if it is like wrath). So this also means if it is like wrath within 10 days i will have EVERY cut in the game. (55 non meta)

I also do have 6 toons that will not be this, one is bs/jc, one is lw/jc, one is tailoring/inscription... i have all my bases covered.
