Wink Shaman, Mage, Paladin, Druid, Priest group. pick a healer and a tank

    Title says it all,
my group at 80 is Paladin, Druid, Mage, Shaman, Priest.

What is your favorite trinity setup?
    (including specs for the dps)

interesting ... Priest probably as healer out of the 4 classes. it is pretty much the only class I have no clue on, but reading up on it, sounds like the best healer pound for pound (I hate that boxing term). I would then dual-spec pally and druid into tank/dps ready for cata!

yeah i know. i got it all wrong at the moment (levelled them solo like taht)
currently the tank is the bear and the pally is the healer, which is crap for aoe heals.
They are all 80 except the mage at 70. I could actualy swap the mage for a 80 warrior, but that means he would be the tank as I don't want to have melee.
But if the warrior is the tank, then that means the paly needs to be the healer because i want no melee..
    ARGH!

in all i think i should aim at:
    - getting the mage to 80 asap
    - gearing the paly for tanking (got ret and holy sets atm)
    - speccing the priest to heals
    - speccing the druid to moonkin

Gah all my current gear is wrong lol. oh well, i guess that's the game..
so it seems the best candidate comp is
    - Paladin tank
    - Priest Healer
    - mage/Shaman/Druid caster dps

So i did the changes as mentioned above.
Big loss of stats for a couple toons. My tank went from 45k hp (ex-bear) to 25k hp (paly) and my healer from 2100sp (ex-paly) to 1600sp (priest).
thankfully my druid had a early-80 balance set, so i don't lose too much on dps.

All i have to say is, my new paly tank is so easy to play.. love how she grabs all the mobs off the bat, and never lets them go (even though some dps have twice her GS)

all good now, just need to level the mage and keep gearing up.
    thanks for the advice.

This is a little late, but I run a team very similar and I just started clearing heroics with them. Pally tank, priest healer, shadow priest, frost mage and boomkin. These characters are filling some roles in my 10 box team and I'm gearing them together.

    For the specs:
For the priest I went with the raid utility aoe holy spec on wowwiki.com. You give up some single point heals but the group heals are amazing.

The frost mage is a raid mana battery, also on wowwikiw, which is a dps hit but i like the mana even in heroics, especially with bad gear. Arcane would be better dps but I use the mage more for ports, food, and replenishment.

The others are standard specs for tank and dps.

Never tried a druid tank. I like my aoe-pally-one-button-madness. And aoe priest healers rock.

yeah that's what i found too, the healer (priest) a tank (paly) are much easier to manage than before (bear tank, paly heals)
My mage is still levelling up (71 now) and i can't be bothered to do a nice macro yet, so all he does is spam frostbolts with icy veins/trinkets. He does about 800-900dps so that ok. I've met some 80s that couldn't do that much :-)
The druid and shamy pull about 2500 and 2000 dps respectively, i need to work out the moonkin rotation a bit better (re. eclipse procs) but for the most part it's ok
between replenishment, mana totem, and JoW i can't seem to use any mana on the casters at all.
The paly tank however is always oom. but i guess that's because i currently do level 71-74 instance and he doesn't get hit enough for spiritual attunement to kick in, I'll try higher instances tonight.

    here are my toons:
    Protection Paladin
    HolyPriest
    Elemental Shaman
    Balance Druid
    Frost Mage
Specs/glyphs are all over the place atm, i'll look into them when i'll start on heroics

I haven't run any numbers on this macro, but it helped boost my dps from just frostbolt spam.

I always put focus magic on the boomkin, then this rotation helps hit the brain freeze talent procs. I started adding in the ice lances just because they're instant and every now and then the target is frozen.

    /target [target=focustarget,nomod]
/castsequence reset=combat frostbolt, frostbolt, ice lance, frostfire bolt, frostfire bolt, ice lance
    /cast icy veins
    /use 13
    /use 14

Atm I don't have any other ideas for boosting frost dps.

    - getting the mage to 80 asap
    - gearing the paly for tanking (got ret and holy sets atm)
    - speccing the priest to heals
    - speccing the druid to moonkin

sounds like the best way to go

@Zub: my pally tank is always going oom, even at 4800 gs. Two ways that I have found to deal with this is to drink for mana whenever I need it, only takes 5-10 secs since her mana pool is only about 5k; or if you can go fast enough to pull each group before Divine Plea drops off you can keep it active for several minutes at a time through out a run since it refreshes every time you get hit. In contrast spiritual attunement does nothing for me since I almost never take enough damage for it to make any difference.

    Just my two cents

I rarely have {or should I say "had" since I'm not playing ATM} mana problems with my pally. Spiritual Attunement really didn't do much for me, so I dropped points into Benediction instead. You can also use Innervate on the pally. And of course judge/seal wisdom and arcane torrent as needed since you're BE.
