    What changed for you?

Not really. Still having fun running ICC10 four times a week.

I have 19 transmutation master alchemists ATM and complete sets of mats to make six more. Just need to get off my lazy butt and level them up. I have nine tailors with 400+ skill as well, in case those are money makers in Cata.

My in-game goals really aren't about owning the AH or getting to the gold cap. I just want enough money so I can...
    craft basic gear
    level up professions
pay huge sums of repair costs while learning new encounters
    gem
    and enchant
my guys without spending time doing dailies.

    That seems like enough.

I was going to do 2x ret , enhance shaman, feral druid, priest.

Changing to feral druid, ret pally, enhance shaman, priest, warrior (not sure on spec yet) after seeing some NDA stuff lifted.

Small potatoes compared to you guys, but yes... plans changed =)

The main thing i changed is that i *do not* want to get ready for cata. I decided to do whatever I feel like when I play rather than grinding for a specific goal for the upcoming expansion. At my current pace I'll achieve my first goals anyway if the release is november.

I'll change my current main team from pally + 4 shamies to a flexible setup where I have a warrior / pally / druid tank that I can run with druid / priest / lock / shaman or with 4x shaman. I'll also have 3 x dps dk's & 4x dps pallies ready to hook up with a tank.

Profession wise I won't change much. 20 alchemists, 10 tailors and 5 jc's each tank will be an enchanter and 1 of each other prof except engineer.

I still still see Transmutation and Tailoring being major money in Cata.

I looked at letherworking and notiched Artic Fur was still a key ingrediens, along with eternals.

I don't even think I wanna login when the x-pac is released due to que time, and people all over the place trying to get asap! to 85.... Atm im leveling 4*ret paladins with my druid main tank to see some of the old dungeons.

But i'm a very casual player, only online maybe 2 times a week.

6x9 = 36 per week...so... even if I have 36 per week to some other 6 per week guy, I will always net more. As long as there is an outlet for the item (i.e bags tend to sell well) then the price will be sustained.

J/C is 1 prism every 20 hrs so netting you 8.4 gems per week...lets call it 8 per week...

So yes JC is awesome, but if the prism is even similar to the way it is now and only every 3ish (Or with my luck it has been) get a decent/purple gem there is not much difference. Perhaps long run JC will outweigh Tailoring but it is again to early to really dissect it to much.

Plus no one will ever stop wanting x-mute items unless
    A. They are total crap/niche use.
Or B. There is no cool down so everyone can do it repeatedly i.e titanium now...

Edit - Not to mention I really could see half of those 6 cloth x-mutes being turned into "Spec" X-mutes so you only get 2-3....

    Just my opinion though

All I know is that JC was huge money when woltk came out, I mean HUGE.

If you were one of the first JC of the expansion your stuff would stay on the AH usually 30 mins or less the first month basically and you could set almost whatever price you wanted.

I don't have any concrete plans for Cata, because I don't know if I'll be playing it. I am assuming I will, but I was pretty excited about WotLK and wound up leaving the game for a few months right before it shipped. I just plan to continue what I have already started, which is:

    - Keep leveling my priest + 4 mage team, which I am doing via quests. They will ding 60 this weekend, and possibly be somewhere between 61 and 64 by the time the weekend is over. They will all be alchemy + JC and I hope to have them all at max before Cata (currently at just under 100 alchemy, have not started JC).

    - Powerlevel my 4 lowbie warlocks from time to time. They are almost 27. One of them is a 200 tailor. I'm not sure what to do with the others in terms of professions, but I will look to continue leveling the tailor.

    - Finish up professions that aren't at max. I have no max'ed out tailor (one at 437, one at 280, one at 200). I have two enchanters, one is at 375. I have one leatherworker at 442.

Hopefully at Cata release I'll have ~17 level 80s, with three 450 tailors, six 450 alchemists and seven 450 JCs.
