Just for my general edification, you mention in one of those threads being able to escape a gank with your hulk. Was your hulk the only ship in the area or did you bring [warp stabilizer?] support ships? I haven't had any experience with high-dollar mining/ganking so I'm a pure noob when it comes to high-stakes PVP in EvE (spent all my money on a cruiser once and got podded before my screen finished loading; presumably why it cloaks you after gating now).

In high sec you need to outlive the 'alpha' from your attackers. Thus the stacking of EHP (effective hit points.) I believe you can hit around 34,000 EHP. Which should give you enough time to sustain damage while you wait for CONCORD (the police) to arrive and blow up your attackers.

In 0.5 systems I think CONCORD takes upwards of 20-25seconds to arrive.

If your caught in low/null sec in a HULK your dead unless you've got backup. Protip don't mine in a barge in Low sec.

Gotcha. Didn't think a barge could fit enough to protect against gankers.

Just joined a 0.0 corp, so thankfully this won't affect me 'quite' as much I don't think.
