*shrug* Whether it's playing a single character or 5-boxing, I give the same response to everything, unless I'm feeling charitable:

    Warrior: priest fort plz
    Me: NI HAO MA
    Warrior: what r u chinese?
    Me: NI HAO MA

    or

    Shaman: Hey lol u r botting, rite? u r not 5 ppl?
    Me: NI HAO MA
Shaman: lol u r farm botting omfg lol reported
    Me: NI HAO MA?

Either case, the first guy just ignores me, the second actually did report me but the GM cleared things up with me being a multiboxer and everything was fine.

Moral: Always respond with a Chinese greeting and everything will be okay. =D

Id just like to share my expereinces and things I have found that help improve my acceptance among my server (kel'thuzad) When I first started it was bad, the first 15 or so levels there are lots of people who dont get it or just QQ a lot and most of the time Im rather, short with them I guess would be the term. The ones that are genuinely curious or the 'wtf' crowd I will explain a little bit or just say 'lol' I suppose an english response is all most of them want because they leave me alone after that lol.

But one thing that I feel really helped me was what hippieman mentioned. As odd as it sounds /dancing in a group in a major town does wonders for your reputation; people especially love the synchronized ghost wolf dancing, since they only have one dance move its very easy to sync them and it looks great maybe ill post a small vid of one of them I took last night lol. I spent easily an hour last night in TB dancing on hunters rise (near arena battlemasters) and dropping totmes all over, running around in sync and just doing random stuff. I drew a huge crowd too(usually in the teens at any given time, not a ton but remember this is TB) and many just stayed around to watch me racast my 20 totems every time lol. Two people even kept shouting 'more totems!' whenever some were fading lol. Got lots of 'dude get to 70, NOW!' And more and more things like that, and the news definately spread because several people from the same guilds would show up and do a 'omg' or 'wtf' followed by their guildmate saying "dude I told you!" This was my second visit to a main town with all 5 where I didnt have to put someone on ignore for being a twat so obviously my name is getting around. I even went to town once with only one char (my main) to put a bunch of silk cloth that I got from SM runs into my bank since I was running out of room. Two people on the zep actually asked me where the rest of me was, people I did not know or ever talked to. When I told them where they were they just laughed and said good luck. I also get atleast one tell a day from a different person asking how instances are going or what Im working on at the moment, or even if they can join my 5v5 arena team when Im 70 LOL.

I would say avoid orgrimmar if you do this, way too many cunts there and too much lag, the entrance to UC works well too (by the chair in the front) because it is a high traffic area but not tons of people. The more people that have respect for you the more people you have to stick up for you later and that has come into a play a lot. On my last 3 visits to town (training at 32 and 34 and vendoring/restocking at 33) I have had atleast 2 people within earshot to defend/explain what I am doing to the QQing haters (or just tell them to stfu and QQ moar lol).

Since my first shammy is L70 and kinda somewhat known to a lot of folks on the server, I've had a good time hanging out in Org with the three newbies and having a big conversation with myself. Boylston will lecture the little guys about techniques and ways of the shaman. I have minor personalities for each of the Boyls-- Boylcee answers every question with "FROST SHOCK!", Boylbee mutters to himself under his breath about the trials of being an Orc. Boyldee tends to emote that he is staring blankly off into the distance. Boylston tends to get very frustrated with the Boyl* squad and will throw up his hands in the air and say, "ok, ok, nothing that can't be solved by a little dancing"... etc etc

It's way more fun to not answer questions directly, as well. I like sending whispers to people who run up and ask "R u Bot?!!1??" with things like, "Shh. We're waiting for Boyldee to fall asleep then we're going to glue his shield to his back with murloc slime!" or to break into an argument amonst yourself about some loot. (Boylbee is a huge loot ninja, BTW).

A little misinformation is fun too. I will sometimes explain to people, "Don't be a n00b, haven't you ever seen the Teleporter Pad in Gadgetzan malfunction before?"
    Cranky old-timer.

    Default Yes of course!

Boylston you're a genius my good man!!!! I'll extend your messing with their heads style to a set of non sequiturs

    random: WTF?
    then some random reply
    • Ooh Mrs McGregor ! I shall dampen your firey passion by bopping you on the nose with this small china ornament.
    • You'll never take me alive copper!!
    • By God, I'll have some satisfaction from you. Roll up your blouson and fight like a man!
    • Hey, kemosabe! long time no see. Hey sport you know, I can see two tiny pictures of myself and there's one in each of your eyes. They're doin' everything I do. Every time I light a cigarette, they light up theirs. I take a drink and I look in and they're drinkin' too it's drivin' me crazy, it's drivin' me NUTS!
    • If you want a fluffy scarf - put sticky-tape on the dog, rip it off and wear it around your neck!
Now if that doesn't get them running for the hills I don't know what will.
So can anyone else come up with some totally bizarre responses to WTF???

Ive argued with my alts, accusing each other as botting and stuff like that. I dont do it very often though since I have better things to do.

I did respond to a "wtf how many of you are there?" with "how many? There is only one, get your eyes checked man."

Well you have your four types:

    1) WTF, HAXXX, DUDE, REPORTED type. just ignore them. it is a waste of time to deal with them. The best thing is to do absolutely nothing as anything you say will just make it worse.

    2) HOW YOU DO THIS, WHAT MOD ? types. I usually take the 30 seconds to explain that I have 5 accounts and tell them if they are REALLY interested they can go do www.dual-boxing.com/forums2 to learn more.

    3) friendly/congratulate types. Most often these are people that dual/multi box themselves or have done so (or have friends that do). I usually have a quick chat with them and if they want to know more I send them to this forum as well.

    4) Very polite people that try to explain to you that you are violating TOS. I just roleplay with them. It REALLY confuses them.

Also on alliance side do not bank in Stormwind or Ironforge. All the gold sellers make those stupid level 1 characters that spam people with /say in the AH and bank there and everyone is really annoyed and has extra low tolerance. I bank in exodar (mage portal), especially since I am revered there so regents/repairs are cheapest. Few people and much more relaxed attitude.
