    Default GridCustomLayouts

    Ugh, please help! I spent a few hours last night and couldn't solve my problem.

    I have Grid. I have GridCustomLayouts. I have read, and reread the following thread many times:

    http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=30443

    I haven't been able to get the layout how I'd like it.

    What I would like (imagine each name is a grid box):

    Owltoid1 Owltoid2 Owltoid3 Owltoid4 Owltoid 5
    <blank space>
    Raid1 Raid2 Raid3 Raid4 Raid5
    Raid6 Raid7 Raid8 Raid9 Raid10
    (and continue to grow down depending on how many are in the raid)

    I have set my cutom layout to what the thread was suggesting:

    ToonA,ToonB,ToonC,ToonD,ToonE;sortMethod = "LIST"
    (where ToonA is my toon name, in this case the Owltoid on account1)

    This works great. My team always shows up, even in a 40 man raid.

    However, I can't get the rest of the raid to show. I've tried the showRaid command without success. Anyone know how to set this up? I'd love a better description of the addon than what is currently on WoWAce.com.

    ***side note: my toon list actually contains about 30 names which is great since it allows one config for all my teams. I can now mix and match and whatever toons are on will show up in the list as I'd hope

    Question 2: do I need to download something like Pitbull to turn off the default WoW party avatars or is it possible through Grid?

    the other thread in the last few posts talks about turning off party frames in the wow interface, haven't looked for it myself yet though.

    I think they were talking about Vuhdo in those posts. I can download Vuhdo, or Pitbull for this functionality, but it seems like overkill for just trying to get rid of the default WoW avatars. I'm not even sure if you can run two unit frame programs at once, though I'm betting you can.

    Before going to grid I used to just pull the raid portraits out on the playing field and put a repeater region over it.

    worked well and only showed up in raids.

    But i like having Grid a little better because you can lock it.

    Anyone know the first question? How to get the rest of the raid to show up? Really hoping to have a solution before heading home from work this evening

    It's so simple... and beautiful

    Here is my custom script:

    Owltoìd,Strong,Grouser,Jugz,Chubchaser,Owltoîd,D runkbertha,Thatblueguy,Thattinyguy,Thatuglyguy,Tha ttallguy,Owltoïd,Drunkfrida,Otherblueguy,Othertin yguy,Otheruglyguy,Othertallguy,Owltoid,Drunkhelga, Whichblueguy,Whichtinyguy,Whichuglyguy,Whichtallgu y,Owltoíd,Drunkolga,Thisblueguy,Thistinyguy,Thisu glyguy,Thistallguy;5/2;

    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
    7
    8

    And that's it! What it shows is my 5 online players (all those names are the possible teams I could have and eventually I'll add to the list my friends I want to keep an eye on), then a blank space, and then groups 1-8 (note that it will repeat my toons in their groups).

    I realize this is very similar to things posted in other threads. I just didn't understand how things were working with the addon and it caused some frustration. I'll keep my eye out for GridCustomLayout questions in case people stumble around like I did.
