Thread: Oh yes...

    Default Oh yes...

Auto-quest complete technology: Players are able to complete quests in the field and immediately begin the next quest in the chain, without running back to the quest giver for the next step in the quest, allowing multiple quests to be completed without returning home. Think of it as Archmage Vargoth's staff on steroids.

Raid boss quantity limits: Every raid in Cataclysm will have no more than six raid bosses per instance. Instances like Icecrown Citadel and Ulduar in boss number are gone, and the Serpentshrine Caverns/Tempest Keep model is back in. With a reduced number of raid bosses per raid, three full raids will be available at Cataclysm's launch.

    giggity.

    Uhhh...

...we have the ability to clear 12/12 in 3 hours of raiding now. We're going to be twiddling our thumbs come Cataclysm unless instances are as big as AQ40 w/o the use of mounts. Actually Uldum looks quite huge *cough*cough*.

The raid thing is to slow progression. There were three raids at BC launch (counting Kara/Mag/Gruul as one). How long till most guilds had killed Kael? They also neglect to mention how many guilds Vashj and Kael destroyed. That said, I do miss the epicness of SSC and TK.

The quest thing could be good, but I'd rather they just make quests a little more thought out. Seems like a feature to fix a problem that better quest planning could solve, but who knows.

Uhh.. it took you MONTHS to get to this point. You didn't step into ICC and clear 10/12 in your first night.

How quickly we forget where we came from.

Only because they gated each wing, and it's a gift from the Gods if we actually had full attendance for all 8 raid nights in each month. Are they going to be gating instances with only 6 bosses? Doubtful.

This multiple raid thing is absolutely fabulous.

I remember very well having lots of fun running Naxx solo figuring bosses out and anticipating Ulduar. Then Ulduar comes out and the first boss isn't a boss - it is some terribad vehicle-based thing where none of the skills and abilities you have developed over the past three years of playing WoW meant anything. Not a single ability out of your spellbook was used. And this was before they allowed vehicle follow, making it nigh-impossible to solo. Why did they have to make this the very frist boss and make him unskippable? Totally blocked me from doing anything in that massive raid instance and a whole tier of raid content was made unavailable. It really sucked and soured me on the game.

With three raids instead of one we will be protected against the consequences of being blocked by gimicky bosses to a large extent. I don't expect to be able to do all the bosses in all three raids solo, but this will at least give us three paths to start from.

    /raising the bullshit flag

How many times did we wipe on Sarufang before we figured it out?

Oh, then how many times on Rotface?

    And Putricide?

And the Blood Princes handing us our asses?

And then the Blood Queen wiping our faces across the floor?

Ya, there was no "the gated wings are holding us back" dude. That's bullshit and you know it. There were HARD gearchecks and strategy checks. Just because you can destroy the place now doesn't mean you could even come close when you first zoned in.

Lag? Do you remember all that lag? Don't try to say you don't remember the lag. How many times did we call the raids early due to lag? The lag won't be there come Cataclysm. 400 guilds won't be in the same instance at the same time. We only raided 2 days a week as well and seeing as you've been gone for awhile and don't realize we're looking to do 3 days a week come Cataclysm, which would only mean we'd clear shit faster.

Never once did I say week 1 of raiding we'll be walking through 18 bosses and 3 instances. Don't you think they're going to be geared in tiers? So when we finish the first 6 boss instance [Naxx], the next 6 boss instance [Ulduar], and we have the third 6 boss instance on farm [ToC], we'll be farming only 6 bosses. When ToC was on farm [all 5 awesome bosses] it took less than an hour to clear...and then what the fuck did we do?

I think there's gonna be the same amount of bosses, but spread accross different raids, rather than being in different wings of the same raid like naxx was. It really just gives us more choice. Some guilds could also choose to do 1 on 25 player and 2 on 10 player, or whatever. It will also help pugging, if you only want loot from a certain boss, you no longer have to wait through 8 other bosses to get to it. I for one like this change.

But yeah, if we as a raid group can clear 11 bosses in one night, we are gonna be left doing a bit of thumb twiddling... Hopefully they release lots more raids as patches come out...
