I use walk and strafe to do the line form. i basically have two hotkeys, one toggling walk for just two toons (not affecting the other two and the lead) and the other key to execute the strafe on all toons except lead. who and in what direction they strafe (including who walks) is all determined by the members of my action target groups (atg).

i have 3 atgs if i'm not mistaken: strafeleft, straferight, and walk. strafing (q or e) are actions assigned via a mapped key in my general keymap section. this is the same with walking (/). so i have two mapped keys: lineform and walking. since the atg now has actions defined, i just needed to add/remove members in the atgs based on who's leading. i created 5 new keymaps for every slot. in the keymaps, i defined who joins and who leaves the group and a few other things not related to formation. the memberships will be different for every leader. i assigned the keymaps to specific slots and load when the windows/characters are called to switch (char sets -> slot 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 -- "do this mapped key" section).

that's the gist. gluck on your formations. i forgot to ask if you're even using isboxer.. oh well it may help someone else if you're not.

This is all kinda greek to me. I'm playing with it now. The only thing I had previously set up in ISBoxer was the Up/Down/Left/Right arrows to do just that except on my main. Up and down of course move forward and back which is how I easily stop them from auto following me, and to usually back up a few steps so that they are out of any kind of melee aoe range of whatever I'm tanking. Forward if they get too far out of range while I'm moving my target around. Left and right are pretty much useless because it makes them turn that way and I mostly don't want them to do that.

I'm adding in strafing left and right Q/E now and see how that goes.

On a positive note. I downed Telestra in Nexus today. I tried standing outside the room but she summoned all my toons into the room during the toss portion of the fight. So then it was basically chase her, hit auto follow for my toons so they were lined up facing her again each time and then keep repeating it. No deaths. But, later on I couldn't kill Ormorok since I tried a new method that basically killed all my toons but my tank on the first spike. This is where I'll need to get strafing down correctly.

    ----EDIT----

Got the strafing down now fairly simple. Just assigned to all but current for E (right) and Q (left). So my team can now strafe. Baby steps!

Now I'll have to try and understand how to do what you did with formations.
