Switched to Isboxer, fps is stable again, one issue

Recently switched to ISboxer to fix some idiotic FPS issues I was having with other software. It seems to be fixed now that I am constantly stuck at 60FPS no matter what, but I do have a slight peeve.

Every few minutes are so the frame rate will chug for a second, it happens so fast that you cant even see it register on the FPS indicator at the top left, but it is still noticeable.


To try to make a metaphor for this issue, consider this.

You are running at 60MPH when you hit a bush, slowing you down for a split second but you immediately get back up to 60MPH.

Make sense? Is this normal?

Have you made sure to limit your slaves FPS?

Also dialing down your graphics on your slaves will help if you haven't already.

I would suggest that it was normal hard drive lag (if you are using platter drives), or maybe the ram is full and needs to free up space for some files incoming from the hard drive. Apart from that I would suggest some kind of throttling/overheating, but that would cause more then a minor hickup here and there.

It could also just be normal, WoW is surprisingly demanding to run at high settings..

Check the Power control panel and make sure your CPU isn't being throttled. It's under advanced power settings, Processor Power Management, Minimum and Maximum Processor State. If they're not both 100% (or at least the same number) then it may be a little glitchy. If the settings don't exist on your PC then this probably isn't it, but something to try anyway
