Thread: Random crashes

    Default Random crashes

For about the last 3 weeks or so I've been experiencing random crashes of all or just some of my wow clients. It doesn't happen too often but trying to do some arenas and having one or all of my clients crash isn't too fun. Just wondering if anyone else have been experiencing this issue.

I'm running 5 clients on a amd phenom x6 1090t with ati 5870 stock setting. I thought possibly overclocking it was causing the problem so I set the setting back to stock. I don't think its the video card cuz I was having the problem before I got the card. Hoping its just a software issue where I just need to change a setting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

how much RAM do you have? What Windows version and 32/64? Those 2 are the biggest causes of what you describe

Windows 32-bit vs 64-bit wouldn't cause random crashes and it doesn't sound like he's out of RAM...

What kind of crashes are these? It happens after playing for a while? Without having any information about the crash it's kind of hard to even guess what's happening. For example, if it's a WoW #132 crash, then the answer would be to run the WoW repair tool. If you get a Lavish Crash Reporter box, then it would help to send the error report, and you can also try running the development build of Inner Space -- to do so, right click the IS icon in the system tray, select Patcher, check "Download development (test) patches", then close and restart IS

Thx for reply guys and sorry for being vague about my problem.

I'm currently running Window 7 64-bit with 8gbs of memory.

The crashes seem to happen at all different times, sometimes when i'm in arena, as i'm standing outside waiting for que, etc... Don't know if this matters but I did use Leatrix Latency Fix addon to improve my ping cuz my ping just sux on my server (picked the wrong server without checking location awhile back). Not sure if the way the packets are handled may be causing the issue. I did noticed yesterday when one of my clients got disconnected, I was disconnected from ventrillo for a bit also.

Unfortunately I dont think I sent a error report (usually can't think straight when I lose 10-15 points in an arena game cuz of a crash ), but will from now on and I'll try the "Download development (test) patches" thing.

By the way, thx for making such a great product Lax, I don't think I would play wow if I couldn't use ISboxer.

So are these disconnects or crashes? Your OP says crash but you just stated a client disconnected as well as vent. Big difference in trouble shooting between the crash and disconnect.

It's crashes, i get the crash warning from Innerspace. The disconnect is from ventrillo (which only happened once)

Hmm... I was thinking my connection had something to do with it but if that was the case, it would just disconnect me instead of crashing one/all of my clients.

    Good point.

Thanks for clearing that up. As Lax posted in another thread, expect a minor patch real soon. There have been many crash reports from folks since the patch. Myself included.

Thank you very much for the update. I haven't played much but the random crashes seem to have stopped.

It's nice to lose games again cuz I suck and not cuz of disconnects.
