    Default [WoW] LBRS Wyrmthalak

    So I decided to attempt LBRS last night at 56. I was surprised at how well it went. I wiped a few times but all in all it was pretty easy up to Wyrmthalak.

    Killing Wyrmthalak is not a problem. Surviving the two adds he calls is a different prospect altogeter. Wyrmthalak is a lvl 60 elite and the two adds are lvl 59 elites I think. By the time I got to Wyrmthalak most of my group was 57 already. The pally was tanking it easily enough as Wyrmy doesn't seem to hit that hard. I think Halycon's mate hit for 1K+ a few times due to a debuff that increases physical damage that I was a bit lax in removing.

    1st attempt: Tanked Wyrmy at his spawn point. When the reinforcements showed up Wyrmy knocked the pally into the air and all 3 mobs steamrolled the priest.

    2nd attempt: Pulled Wyrmy to a kinda cave underneath where he spawns to negate the throw into the air effect. Got consecrate up when the adds came. They went straight for the healer again and taunt didn't seem to work. CCed 1 of the adds but the priest still died. Managed to kill Wyrmthalak but soulstone was on cooldown after the 1st attempt and when I ran back the orcs had started to respawn so no chance of getting to the body in time.

    I tried to Psychic Scream and Howl of Terror as well but not sure what happened with that, whether they were out of range, immune, resisted or something else.

    Any advice for dealing with the adds? I know Wyrmy can be stunned but not sure about CCed. If I can poly him an idea is to just poly Wyrmy and deal with the two adds and then resume dps on him. I think the adds are on a timer so I can stop dots and stings to make sure he can be sheeped. I probably won't be able to consecrate though which will make aggro on the 2nd add a little bit iffy unless I swap targets and judge both.

    I think I might be able to tank all 3 if I Hammer of Justice Wyrmy and get a consecrate tick or two in before the heal lands. Maybe healthstone or pot just to give me time to get aggro on the adds. The hunter can pop a freezing trap as well and if the group is clustered together an add is sure to get caught in it.

    So my strategy for the next run will be:

    1. Consecrate when adds on the way
    2. Place freezing trap
    3. Hammer of Justice Wyrmy
    4. Righteous defense on an add
    5. Avenger's Shield
    6. Judge
    7. Set sheep focus and sheep frozen add or refreeze
    8. Finish off Wyrmy
    9. Finish off adds

    I think this is the first really challenging fight for me.

    If you need to buy a little extra time when the adds come, you could always try jumping from the elevated position you're fighting on, down to the lower floor. Once the adds are near you, they would then have to turn around and run back down the ramp.

    If you have DoTs, you could get a new round of DoTs to finish off the boss before it runs down the ramp as well.

    If you have good control of your alts, you could just drop the four alts down long enough to pick up the adds, and then jump down with the main, with enough aggro do dps all 3 down.

    Or freezing trap one, sheep the other (NOTE: sheep is non-directional...you can cast it while facing the other direction ), continue focusing on Wyrmthalak until he's dead. Then worry about the one that's coming out of the freeze trap (resheep the other one). Kinda depends on how your DPS is doing at that point. Conserve mana until then so you can DPS dump on the boss while the other two are CC'd.

    Can't say how it'll exactly work for you as I did this at 60 with the priest and 4 demonology locks. My DPS was such that Wyrmthalak keeled over dead about time the 2 adds were halfway up the hall.

    Agree on the DPS. 4 mages killed him before his adds were even an issue. (They still come though).

    Managed to kill Wyrmy just fine a few times this weekend.

    Used the following strat:

    Parked group close to edge of his platform. Tanked him up top till I spotted the adds. Focused the ogre for sheep. Soon as the adds were in range the mage sheeps the ogre and the hunter puts down a freeze trap. Tank jumps down with the group on follow. The orc would be trapped.

    At the bottom I heal up whoever needs to be healed and wait for Wyrmy. Managed to finish Wyrmy off before the CC on the adds broke and then it was easy dealing with the adds.
