Download the appropriate versions of Synergy to your Mac and PC.

    Install.

Both your Mac and your PC need to be networked.

Setup the server PC (Preferably the one you are going to run your main character on) Then you need to run the client on the second machine.
Okay, thank you. But do I need any additional hardware (other than the keyboard, mouse, monitor) to make this work? Or do I only need synergy?

The server needs a keyboard/Mouse and Synergy.

Okay, so if I want my laptop to be the main, or server, it would just need a mouse? Do I need anything to physically connect two of the computers together? I mean, I imagine it to be something like this: laptop just has mouse, the other computer has keyboard and mouse, but everything would be controlled from the laptops keyboard...?

so I don't need anything PHYSICALLY connecting both computers together?

The two (or more) devices need to be networked. So a network cable would do. But Synergy will work through WAN I think (not sure) so as long as both connect to the internet they should talk to each other. Bottom line is if you can transfer files from one to other (without burning CDs, using memory cards etc) then Synergy will talk.

Does anyone else have any input on this?

All synergy requires is for the two computers to be networked.

If you can't figure out how to do this, then maybe Multiboxing is beyond you, as it does require a fair amount of tech saavy. Not that I'm trying to discourage you, but you should at least try to find out a bit more about computers before you try to attempt something as involved as Multiboxing.

IS there anyone here who has successfully done this and can give me some tips?

I take it you haven't got it working?

    What is not working?
    No connection at all?
Connection but unable to pass key strokes?

We can certainly try to help even if we haven't got quite the same configuration... Be warned though I can crash a mac at a 100 yards.
