Default Minimum Comp Specs for 5-Boxing?

Hey I am extreamly new to Boxing in general and was wanting to know what the minimum system requirments are for 5boxing.(i.e. is an intel DualCore Processor good enough, whats the minimum RAM, etc.)

Currently I am Dual-Boxing Warlocks but from reading these forums and looking at youtube videos I truly want to get to running 5man teams through dungeons. Thankyou ahead of time for any and all help you all give.

Peruse the hardware forum and within a couple pages you'll see people asking the same question about computer specs.

The base spec a while back was:

    • Intel Core2Quad Q6600 (2.4ghz) or better (the AMD quad-core should work, too; do some benchmark research first)
    • 4GB RAM
    • NVidia 8800GT or ATI 4770 or better

This was basically the bare minimum you could get away with for 5-boxing. The assumptions that the above would run 5 acceptably were:
    • /console set maxfpsbk 15
    • All slave graphics turned down to minimums
    • High-resolution on the main, low-resolution (800x600) on the alts
    • Minimum of addons installed on alts
    • Understanding that your performance in Shattrath (at the time) or Dalaran will suck unless you have fast RAID hard drives.

I'm sure there are threads you could dredge up about it but that's the bottom line. The biggest improvement to the above would be going from 4GB to 6-8GB or more of RAM. For today's market, the next biggest improvement would be a fast SSD or a couple of average SSD's in some form of RAID-0. After those two, graphics would be the next upgrade. 9800GT or ATI 4850 being the cheapest solid options.

    That help a bit?

Eh, while a fast set of hard drives definitely speeds up load times the biggest thing in those areas is RAM (to me). Why? If you're low on RAM then you'll start going into the page file which is on (gasp) a hard drive!

That's not to say I don't recommend a SSD. Far from it. SSD's rock. I wish I still had mine.

Traded it off along with some cash to switch to an mATX form factor.

I have a slot for one, and should I feel the need arise I'll get another one. Haven't played wow/multiboxed for a little bit now. Feels nice. Maybe I'll come back in a year or two.
