    Default Handling group healing

    Hi all!

First post here and I had a question.

    My is as follows;
    Resto shaman & Protection pally.

I have no problems healing my pally/self healing the shaman but I'm wondering; how do you handle group healing in instances? I considered making the shaman elemental and queueing as dps/tank but I think I'd prefer the healer/tank rolls for my team. What is the best way to handle group healing when the healer(my shaman) is the slave character? Thanks.

If you're using ISBoxer, VuhDo (or another click type healing addon) plus Repeater Regions seems to be the way to go. I have my priest setup with some hotkeys to specifically heal my tank, but for the rest of the group I just click the appropriate party member frame on my tank to have the priest cast a heal, with the type of click determining what heal they receive.

If you don't have/want to use the above, a simple macro function on your slave that might work would be some variation of:

    /assist Tank
    /cast [target=help] Healing Wave; [target=targettarget] Healing Wave

That would have your slave cast a heal on whoever your tank is targeting if they were friendly, or whatever player is currently being attacked by the mob your tank has targeted. I think anyways, I'm not so keen on the macros and that's what a quick google turned up. This is not a very good option since it won't be able to heal periodic or AoE damage effectively, and your tank would have to sacrifice time building threat to direct your shamans heals, but it might do in a pinch for basic stuff.

ISBoxer + Repeater Regions + VuhDo is what I'd recommend though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am using ISBoxer. However, please correct me if I'm wrong but don't repeater regions mean I have to enable the broadcast option that allows you to use your mouse for all toons? I found that to be quite laggy to be honest. Is that what you were suggestion? So I would install VuhDo on both toons so that when I clicked on the spot where the addon is with my paladin the request is actually processed by my shaman? Or something close to that.

Only a portion of the screen gets broadcast, and then only to those toons you specify, so it might be worth playing with and seeing if it affects your performance much. Right now I'm running 5 toons, and I have 4 different repeater regions setup to the 4 different toons, and don't notice any performance problems.

You have the setup right though, you'll want a VuhDo window on your paladin to match the one on your shaman. In the VuhDo options, turn off the "You First" and then sort by Name so that the order is identical on both. Then just setup a repeater window where you want to stick the VuhDo frame

Control-Alt-Shift-G was the default to bring up the GUI in game. It's a pretty simple process.

On an unrelated performance note, I'm still very new to mboxing myself as I've only been at it a few weeks, but the other day I played around with the Max/Min FPS options (team character slot setting in ISBoxer, or /maxfps # in WoW) and it made all the difference in the world. When the toons are in the background I limit them to 10FPS. I went from stuttering and freezing every time I went to Orgrimmar with 4 toons, to being able to run through it without problem with 5.

Thanks again for the response! You answered an additional question I had regarding the character order for the groups! I also made a 4 man team(3 mages, 1 priest to level who will eventually play with a 53 paladin I have waiting). I am overly excited to accomplish this. The queue times on my server for a tank/healer are non-existent so I was hoping to fly through 71-80 via LFD. Thanks again for your help!

I like to set up the target of the Repeater Region, as an Action Target Group, rather then a Slot of specific toon.
In the drop down box, where you are choosing who gets to repeat the mouse action, you can set an ATG right there.
I recommend checking the KVM mode, so you click on any toon, without the tank or DPS changing targets.

Within IS Boxer Toolkit, scroll down to ATG's, and make a new one.
Can call it something like Healer or Heals.
Once you have an ATG, it will appear as a valid Repeater Region target option.

You can drag characters from the top pane (Characters) down to the bottom left pane (the ATG), to set who is initially in this group.

Then with mapped keys, specifically the "New Target Group Action", you can add or remove toons from an ATG.

    You can get rather creative.
For example, my Feral Team has a few heal options set up with Grid + Clique.

Alt + Left Click, is a Rejuvenation and Alt + Right Click, is a Lifebloom.
Still messing with a Predatory Strikes - 5 combo point instant heal option too.
Both of these only go to my "Cat" group, never to my "Bears".
If a toon is being focused, I can switch their form to Bear, and they will then not drop form to heal themselves, but the Cats who are not taking damage will do the healing.

I've also got a mapped key, which switches gear and talents to my PvE stuff.
This removes all toons, except the Feral/Resto dual spec, from the Healer Group.
So when I click inside the Repeater Region, only the Resto Druid receives the clicks.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

Well, I've run into a problem. It seems the ISBoxer hotkeys aren't working anymore.

Some do but the group ones don't. I can get my group to jump but when I press alt+f or anything like that, nothing seems to happen. Any ideas what I could have broken between yesterday and today? All I did was install Vuhdo. I tried disabling that, it did nothing.

    Default Something to check

what I have found is that if Mouse or KB repeater is turned on, then ALT-F(default follow) will not work.

Ualaa has a wonderful guide that can help modifying and splitting the mouse and KB repeater into different keys.

    http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=26231 for the guide.

    Hope this helps.

If both are on (Repeater and Keymaps), then Keymaps have priority.

If Repeater is enabled in one window, and then you switch your active Slot, that messes with Repeater.
Basically, you want the other windows to be copying the active window, so this is intended behavior.

I'd check to ensure the Keymaps On/Off toggle, is toggling any new Keymaps you have made.
If you are making Mapped Keys, and they're in an existing Keymap (General, FTL DPS, Control), then the toggle to enable/disable Keymaps will work fine.
If you've made your own Keymap (a collection of mapped keys), ensure the Control Toggle enables and disables the new Keymap too.

If you cannot figure it out.
Click on File, and copy your profile to clip board.

    I use this method: http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=30511

Basically, ISBoxer + Repeater Regions + Healbot. Gives me the ability to use a ton of different spells (1-20) without having to worry about physically holding down modifiers (Shift, Ctrl, Alt).
