Woot! I done dung 80! Thoughts on Northrend.

gratz on 80! The final wrathgate quest (where you help retake UC) is awesome for a multiboxer, especially if you have any kind of AoE. At least until you aggro a boss and get one shot.

on levelling various groups up to 80, I find if i keep the professions up top speed then the mat cost for equipping them is not that great (providing you have the right professions for your group). you might have to buy frozen orbs / crusader orbs to make some of the items, but it only normally costs me 5-10K when they hit max lvl.

Crusader Orbs and Titansteel Bars were probably the two biggest components of my budget. I required something like 130 Titansteel bars and there was no chance of mining anything like the materials components for that as I leveled (indeed, the bars were selling on the AH for less than their component parts).

ouch, that sucks when you get hit with sky high AH pricing for items. On my previous server Aggramar, the prices weren't too bad, but I have noticed on Grim Batol the pricing is far Higher, so it will probaly cost me a bit when my locks hit 80 (73 ATM). (luckily I transferred over a couple of my characters with bags full of essential supplies (orbs & mats for bars)

The prices weren't too bad on my server. Auctioneer suggested 29,128g for all the mats I wanted when I started out. By buying slowly over the course of my leveling and just picking off the cheapest stuff (titansteel bars for 50-75g, orbs for <100g for example) I was able to bring that down to just a touch over 18,000g.

As it turned out some of the mats weren't needed due to my Jewelcrafter being unable to secure all the patterns he needed so I was able to on-sell some of what I bought (and at a profit too).
