Default Registering multiple accounts - must use same name?

    Hi guys,

When you're registering your multiple accounts, how do you do it? I've registered a few and always used different names, but I see Blizzard doesn't like that.

When I'm registering my multiboxing accounts for Cataclysm should I use my name and also - can you register multiple accounts under a single battlenet account?

Yes and yes. IF you are reported, Blizz will check the names on the accounts. If they don't match, then you are, as far as they are concerned, using accounts that are not yours, which is a violation of their rules and bannable.

You can have up to 8 {??} accounts registered under the same battlenet account.

When accounts are merged into a B.Net account, they all get the name that is on the B.Net account.

My roommate actually bought an account each for a mutual friend and his friend's son.
And initially had all the details for each account, in his own name.

But when the B.Net thing came into effect, he merged them into separate B.Net accounts.
His accounts on his B.Net, in his name.
The father and sons accounts on their B.Net, in the father's name.
At which point character transfers between them were no longer possible, he tried to move a toon across the B.Net's recently and was able to do so.

When an account is reported in game, one of the first things the GM's do is check the names on the accounts.
If they're not the same, that usually results in action against the accounts.
Or at least raises a flag, which isn't a good thing.

If you're the sole user of the accounts, the original owner, the only person who has paid for them, etc.
I'd call Billing and see if they'll change the names for you.
Or if you haven't merged them onto a B.Net account yet, the names will be changed when you do so.
If you go with multiple B.Net accounts, have each in your correct name.

RAF doesn't make a difference, whether its on one B.Net or not.

For RAF purposes, all that matters is which individual account invited the new RAF account.
They can be on the same or on different B.Net accounts.

One thing to note, if you add an account to a B.Net email, then you cannot do character transfers to or from that account, for 30 days if the destination/source is a different B.Net email.
But if the destination/source are both on the same B.Net, then you can do transfers immediately.

I'd recommend one different B.Net email per Warcraft account.
And a single authenticator, for each warcraft account.

You can RAF from Account 1 to a new account.
Whether they're on different or the same B.Net; that makes no difference.
