Default Lock talent builds and various questions

Hi all These questions are all from a PvP point of view, though some are just very basic lock information.

1.) Does seed of corruption proc Siphon Life (when you deal damage with your Corruption spell, you are instantly healed 40% of the damage done)

2.) How useful would Shadowburn be for a multiboxing team?

3.) Depending on the answer to (2), I'm considering a 9/51/11 build so that I have the instacast Shadowburn in the arsenal. Assuming a demo build, is there anything in the affliction tree that I'm sorely missing by getting Shadowburn in the destro tree?

4.) Felguards vs Felhunter... do felguards really put out that much offense to counter the felhunter's dispell? I'm thinking the ability to insta-purge any target, or eat fear off of the locks, would be a huge advantage. Assuming a demonology build, how much of my damage is going to come from my felguards?

5.) Really basic lock question: can I have curses on multiple targets at once? I know that a lock can't put more than one curse on one target, but can I cast curse of agony on everything I see?

6.) Assuming a demo build with felguards, will the only spells I'll be regularly casting be corruption and CoA? I realize I'll use the situational life drain and deathcoil, but is most my damage just coming from those two DoTs, my felguards, and running around trying to stay alive?

    Thanks for all the help!

    1 ) No idea
2 ) It's good, but not that good as the things you miss in affliction once you have decent gear.
3 ) Yes, you miss +6 yards range on dots and 1 sec GCD on curses.
4 ) Felhunters are good for laughs when you send them against a healer or a mage. Felguards just destroy clothies in a couple of GCDs, usually they kill something or almost before the charge stun is over. Roll humans, undeads or use pvp trinket for the fears. Also use the teleport spell to regroup from fear.
5 ) Yes, you can curse everything that has red name and is in range. It's recommended to do it.
6 ) Not only these, but you will also spam seed of corruption and will use demon form + immolation aura or just hellfire when you are swarmed by melee. Once you get decent gear you will not need to run around to stay alive, the other team will run from you if they want to stay alive.

Thanks for the useful reply, Powerwar

I'm surprised by a few things. Based on your reponse, I'm looking foward to seeing how strong felguards are. One thing I'm still not convinced is the 1 sec GCD and extra range vs an insta cast spell. I would think that shadowburn x 4 would be a very nice finishing move. One concern is that I'm guessing you have to face your target. I don't know how strong the spell is once in decent gear though.

Shadowburn is a strong spell spell, but once you get shadowflame it becomes relatively situational.

Felguards are really strong and help alot against "skillcloak" rogues that just jump on you from stealth. Also the silence move from your felhunters is basically negated from the felguards charge stun that has very similar effect on casters and melee.

Of course, fell free to test how does shadowburn work for your playstyle. The good about locks is that they are so versatile when changing builds that you can play completely different playstyles just by changing several talents.

Personally I prefer the dot and lol playstyle instead of the oneshoting nuke.

The best you can do is just try it and see if you like it... not that you will go bankrupt on respecs.

In any case, humans or undead are the best choices for warlocks. Humans for the funky racial or undead for the free antifear trinket and cannibalize. Don't roll gnomes. They are the worst race for locks because their racial sucks and they get no bonuses at all. Orcs get at least some extra punch on the pets.
