I use keyclone, and that is a common problem with mouse focus... espeically in windows 7.
I follow a sequence of things I do before I even start the game.. It seems keyclone requires you to run it in administrator mode so that it can properly hook your mouse.
This is what I do to make sure mouse focus is working before I even start any game... I right click on Keyclone shortcut and "run as administrator". When it shadows your screen and asks you a question.. click yes. You will for a moment "feel like" your "mouse" has slowed down, that is because now Keyclone is "hooking" your mouse.
Now.. when the Keyclone screen comes up.. Click Setup. Then click Maximizer in the listbox to your left....
Now there is a green square. Move your mouse over that square and it should tell you your mouse Position with something that looks like pos( 546, 1099) the numbers should change as you move your mouse across the green screen. If you do not notice the white text with "pos" and numbers on the green screen, then keyclone was unable to "hook" your mouse. If Keyclone is unable to hook your mouse you will need to close Keyclone and try again. Otherwise if you did see the white letters with "pos" and the numbers changed as you moved your mouse across the green screen then your good to go :P
Some Firewall / Antivirus programs can prevent other programs from "hooking" your mouse. I know Comodo asks me everytime... So, If you have problems with Keyclone hooking your mouse, then you may want to check out your antivirus / firewall software to see if they prevent "hooking". Hooking your mouse and keyboard is common for Keyloggers and most antivirus / firewall software will try to prevent this.
If for some reason this makes no sense to you, please ask your question of how it puzzles you or what not.
I'll be watching this post to see if I can help you anymore than this...
