Yep, a few weeks after he hit 70. He didn't do ANY quests past hellfire on his group and saved it all for gold. Did all the quests in each zone, bought epic flyers.

He's been doing his dailies since then, started on Netherwing and could get the Sha'tari Skyguard mount if he wanted.
