Newbie Veteran Multiboxer With Questions

Hi guys,

I started 'Multiboxing' after leveling my first level 70 char in TBC, literally with two computers using that char as a guardian to help me level new characters on a separate account.

Now I’ve decided to multi-box properly in order to spice up my wow play time and I’m having a lot of fun so far! Although I have to say… I just leveled a Warrior Twink to 19 using heirlooms, and it seems as though he is far more powerful than my two shammies combined!?

1. When it comes to PvP, Is it much better to triple-box or quad-box than dual-box?

2. Why are Shammies the most common class to multi-box with? Is it purely their spells like Chain Lightning and Chain Heal?

3. What have been your favourite classes to multibox with and why?

These are just my opinions.
I started off with 1 char, but when there were a lot of elite quests/mobs out in the wild, I couldn't do them without help. I don't level very fast, so when everyone leveled up, I couldn't find as many people to help do the quests/mobs. So I added a healer to help. Then I didn't really have a tank for my squishies, so I moved my lock over. Then I wanted an off tank and some simple minded DPS, so made a hunter. Then I wanted a real tank to do instances, so made a warrior (later switched to hunter). So I started off with 2 and worked my way up, learning macros, key broadcasting, etc. I really suggest that, starting with a lot is a lot do deal with. And you probably don't learn as much as if you had to go through it. Just my 2 copper.

I really liked the ease of pet classes. Pretty much fire and forget. The pets will switch targets and take care of themselves (no real movement on the chars part, just the pets). But pick which classes that interest you. Not what others tell you to do. Everyone told me not to do locks, and I wish I hadn't listened to them. I gave up about a year of wanting them and not doing them.

Shammies are nice since:
Ranged (you don't have to move to the mobs to hit them, it is easier now with IWT--interact with target, but it was a PAIN before that).

Healing (you need a healer no matter what, so having every char that can heal helps).

Burst (shammies can put out very good DPS and do it in a short time, so that mobs die and the shammies don't have to tank the mobs to death).

Cooldowns (elemental totems, elemental mastery, bloodlust/heroism, nature's swiftness, etc allow to cover mistakes or hard content).

Totems (they really do buff and cover a wide variety of thing that help, and healing streams stack).

For PVP, you have to either: rely on your team, which means, doesn't matter how many you have. Or you pick a strategy for yourself (backcapping, capturing, defending, etc) and then it help to have more people to do it with (5). I wanted to use strategy (95% in AV) and wanted to do instances, so 5 is the only option for me.

So for me, start small and work your way up, and do what you want to do, not what others want you to do. Good luck.

I'm quite enjoying the shammies at the moment (level 17). A couple of things I've noticed are...

1. I've got Heirloom items equipped on the shammie on my account, and the 20% heirloom XP bonus DOES stack with the refer-a-friend bonus, so he's getting a lot more XP than the char on the other account.

2. I've now bought 4 Warcraft accounts over the years and every single time I pay for one, I have to wait 48 hours before the trial account restrictions are removed, which is very annoying. I can't trade money, bags or items to the new account, or use the AH, whisper, etc.
