If I had to do it over again, I would have started with 5. Instead I started with 2, then added 1 more, "cause 3 will be enough." Wasn't long after that I moved up to 5.

I started with 3, quickly made it 4 and played 2 teams of 4 ele shaman for a good year or so. Now about 2 months ago i got a fifth account to put my druid on. I have yet to do anything while playing all 5 characters activily.

I just can't be bothered to play 5 charaters, i like it relaxed, which is much easier with just 1 class then going for multiple. I'm pretty sure i'm one of only few, but just wanted to make you think about that

If you do decide to go something other than 5,just know the temptation to up it to 5 will be there so make sure you still level whatever toons you think you may want at that point when you still have your RAF. Then you can just pay the transfer fee to move them to the new accounts when the time comes.

P.S. 5 Paladins = pwnsauce at its finest.

I have to agree, i played 3 for quite some time and you tend to grow increasingly frustrated.
Can do 'some' stuff with 3, but so many more things you could do with another 2.

My experience is just the opposite. Playing just one class doesn't excite me - I have lots of teams and have no more than 2 of any class in any of them. (I have two shammies in 3 of my 5-box teams but I have to at least play them as different specs).

Oh, and as for how many? No question in my mind - go TEN!

I would say either 3 or 5. Having only two simply doesn't give enough power. Although I could understand doing it for PvE if you were going tank and healer. But two DPS isn't powerful enough to kill anything and stay alive.

The good thing about three is that you can still party with two friends.

Four is fine, but some say that you might as well go 5. However, most of the high rated multiboxers are 4-boxers because they let another person be the healer.
