Or just go look on the blizzard US forums and find someone who posted a REAL blizzard email and just cut & paste that into an email.

The more this stuff happens, the more I'm reminded of our old saying when watching "Cops" here in the US: "Criminals is dumb."

There's a good chance people/organizations like this have received ban emails of their own that they can copy and paste from.

Well, to my knowledge there's no official mail that asks you to visit a website and enter credentials in order to stop an account from being banned Blizzard seems to be more inclined to send an email when the account is already banned, temporarily or permanently so the content of the mail is fairly different

The point is, they could use most of it and only need a few extra lines, making it look much more legitimate than the gibberish posted by the OP.

I love that. It's like they are telling you who they are.

I really wish Blizzard would add a key or digital signature to their official emails or a way you could log into your account and check that the email you got was valid. I'm sure half the people would ignore it, or just go the scammers "validation page", but there isn't even a way to confirm that a real Blizzard email is really real. I mean I got some emails from Billing recently and I have no way to validate them even though I am positive they are real (they are replies to my emails).

Simple solution, add a correspondence tab to the Battle.net page that lets you review all the account related emails Blizzard has sent to you in the last 60 days.

I always wonder that myself. On the other hand, they probably realize that only the dumbest people fall for such a badly-worded scam attempt. And when you are looking to scam people, who do you prefer to deal with? Yeah, the dumbest ones.

Well, the dumbest ones are also the ones who'll take up the most support time complaining when their stupidity gets them in trouble. And, if the official WoW forums are any guide, I'd say about 90% of the WoW playerbase is functionally retarded, so that's a LOT of dumb people whining to Blizzard...

Good thing Gmail can tell which ones are real and which are fake, though if you want a good laugh, i'll let you have a look into my super secret spam folder so you can see how much trouble I am apparently in with Blizzard/facebook/Turbine/Mod chips?

Sorry about the size, but it makes for easy reading!
