Well, I'd still recommend an FTL setup, especially as you're saying an end-game goal for the team is PvP.
The best way that I've personally found to do that, is by subscribing to Innerspace/ISBoxer (see the link top of the page) and also installing Jamba (an extremely useful add-on for multiboxers - kudos to J for it).
Yes, it'll be a learning curve (my only negative comment about IS would be the relative lack of documentation for such a powerful piece of software), but if you're serious about PvP, you'll want an FTL setup with strobing follow (Jamba provides this).
Jamba's free and ISBoxer is $36US per year for subs, which if you're 3 boxing is less than 1 months subs on your WoW accounts. What it allows you to easily do (by which I mean, other systems may allow you to do the following, but not so easily I've found):
1. An FTL setup - meaning the moment you swap between characters (and the screen swapping in IS is almost instantaenous) the character you swapped into is now "the leader".
2. Strobed following - meaning if you just got fear bombed, the moment the fear wears off, your follower toons are already running back to your main (assuming they didn't run out of range altogether).
3. (Once you've invested the time nutting it out) A piece of software (ISBoxer) that gives you an incredibly powerful way to make and assign both conditional and unconditional actions to your team without ever having to make name or toon specific macros.
4. A setup that allows you to play the toons as a team, or individually without having to change anything on any one of them (and the virtualised config files that ISBoxer can use also makes it easier to sub in other toons into a team meaning more functionality for all your alts as well).
It's not dead easy to setup, but it's not rocket science either, and you'll get out of it a much better playing experience and be far more effective in what you do as well.
...for when one toon just isn't enough...
Horde Caelestrasz Multiboxer:
Team1: 5xPaladin....Level 80 - Heroic gearing completed. WTB [Frost Badge] pst pls.
Team2: 1xPaladin/4xShaman....Level 80 - On Hiatus, Awaiting Cata.
Contact on: Nevergonna on Realm Caelestrasz (Horde)
Caelestrasz Horde: 5 Active 5 Boxers and counting.
It seems like a lot of work to switch, but its not as bad as it sounds.
You can be up and running with basics in a few minutes. Then as you look to add functionality, pick another section of Ualaa's guide. Before long, you will have your whole team tweaked.
Nice, well unfortunately I can't invest in IS as cheap as it is at the moment as I am going on holiday next month and am saving some money, but upon my return I will gladly try it outThe instantaneous swapping sounds great, as keyclone as a second delay.
Time is money friend!
