new healer on the move to the Big Guys

My Tree is at 79+ and will make the move from sisters of boom to LoB this week. I love healling, and I seem to be good at it. Mostly Whack a mole with Vuhdo. Will get a couple crafted pieces and epic JC stuff from Alcattle. Not sure how soon I can start in HCs. I already started in ToC dailies.and need 4 skil points for JC daily.

Just jump straight into heroics, thats honestly one of the best places to learn. Like I told Vecter/Kaulan when he started healing, go PvP. You'll die A LOT, but you'll learn A LOT more. PvE healing is a joke compared to PvP healing. Also hit up Vecter for the numbers / stats you want as a tree.

I was a bit unorthodox in my gearing up so this info is more inline on what many Restos do. If you are gearing with T9 at first get 4pcT9 and gear up as much haste as you can (secondary crit for the bonus's.) Use SP gems as much as you can. Once you start adding T10 gear save up until you can get 2pcT10 before replacing the T9. Gloves and Legs first. Tree is all about haste and while you can get to haste cap using gear it can be pretty tough so make sure you spec into Celestial Focus (Kaulan's Armory) Mana is an issue in the early stages but once you start gearing up mana becomes an afterthought for a tree. This is a little dangerous to rely on as in Cataclysm it will all change for us but we all will have to relearn our roles when that comes out anyways.

Trees are proactive healers. You will have a ton of overhealing. That's fine and don't let anyone tell you differently. You can gauge this yourself at the early stages by your mana usage and if anyone is dieing As you learn the fights you will know when the damage is coming and you can save a bit here and there.
