Weapon for new 80 Ret Paladins

So my Pally team finally hit 80 and I went from rocking the PVP grounds to being damn near worthless with the big dogs. The two problems I've found are:

A) Armor - I'm only at like 450-500 resil and low stats but I know what I need to do on this

B) Weapon - I'm still using the De-Raged War Axe from a quest. while leveling up which is like 5 BB guns hitting the enemy over and over. The problem I see, however is that to get anything half way decent I pretty much have to raid, or spend 10k gold each (which I don't have) for a hilt. Does anyone have a good suggestion of easy to get weapons that will start getting my DPS up a bit? I'm a bit hesitant to buy Titansteel destroyers because they really aren't a huge step up, but if that is what will be best I will start farming the mats.

I posted this in the PVP section because this is primarily a PVP team, not really planning on doing much else with them so i wanted advice from people that have gone similar routes.

PoS Forgemaster Garfrost, he drops a nice weapon, pretty high drop rate and easy fight. Best bet to get it might be to run toons solo in PuGs, most pugs these days are DE'ing everything so you have a high chance on the roll. Otherwise you would need to gear a little to get them to a level where you could MB Garfrost.

The garfrost hammer on normal is really good. (I used the following method to gear my new Pallies up, they had total crap gear)

What you do is queue your group up to do normal POS.

Go kill Garfrost loot - then teleport all your guys out.

Reset the instance

Teleport back

repeat.

You'll notice there is no 5 instances per hour cap this way.

Maybe pay a geared tank and a DPS to hang with you for 1 hour and do this about 10 times - subbing 3 guys in and out.

You'll also need to do Forge of Souls on all your guys first to be able to get to POS, which shouldn't be a problem.

That is actually a really good idea. Garfrost is the big blue ice guy that you get to first isn't he? So each time you reset it should just be a quick run over to him?

Yep what I did with my pally team was (from using the boa axe) to first make titansteel destroyers because the mats were so cheap and easy then farmed heroics on the pallys using shodokans heroic gold pharmin techniques and made the gold to buy four hilts, took me maybe3 to 4 days to make 20 k gold not really tryin. By the time you get titansteel destroyers you can also farm heroic fos and pos trash for your own hilts which I occasionally do if I get a terrible random like toc or something.

Another option which COULD be cheaper is to find a 3v3 team that's willing to boost you to 1800 for the arena weapons and the do 5s for points lol as most teams on my server willing to do this only charge 5 k gold this would be half the cost! Good luck
