Default PVE 5 man team composition

Im getting ready to start a new pve team. This one mixed, as opposed to my all paladin team. Im thinking I'm gonna go with this:

    1 Prot Pally
1 Mage (spec?) Maybe frost for replenishment
    1 Priest
    1 shaman
    ??

Im trying to take stock of any glarring holes I'm missing in my group. Anyone see anything that is a 'cant live without' buff or ability Im missing? I am trying to keep it a ranged team 'cept for the tank .

Got Fortitude, Intelligence, and Kings covered. Cant decide on whether to go with a holy priest for the heals or resto shaman for the heals and Manatide / earth shield. Dont know anything at all about locks or hunters.

As far as CC goes, I'll have sheep, hex, and fear.

    Thoughts?

Replace the Paladin with a Warrior, drop the shaman for a Druid and add a warlock

    Warrior - Warlock - Druid - Priest - Mage

    Adamus - Azzeddar - Elistriel - Jazeela - Zimrinauth

Keep your group the way you have it, and add a warlock.

Don't bother with a druid, their DPS is lame and they bring nothing to the table anymore but 3% hit debuff.

Druid gets you 13% spell power, just by casting Wrath or Starfire.
You can get the same from an Unholy Death Knight, or any spec Warlock via Curse of the Elements.

The druid will require managing Eclipse procs, for maximum dps, which can be a pain.
I'd go with a warlock on a heavy caster team.

Personally Prot Paladin > All, as far as the tank.
But that is a preference thing too.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.

Balance druids do look a lot more promising for multiboxing groups in cataclysm. Keep that in mind.

    Also, paw buff.

Sure, for Cata but it's a little early to commit to ANYTHING based on what little info we do have about the xpansion..

Add a resto druid and spec your priest shadow.
If you are using healing stream totem + the vampire stuff on the priest you will have much more easy life while leveling in instances.

Once you reach lvl 80 that will also make a big difference while you do your first heroics.
After you are properly geared you can respec your druid to feral cat and your priest to disc/holy as tank healer.

You also will have the option to have two healers for fights you cannot down with one only healer. While running your first heroics this will make a big difference if you just ding lvl 80 and enter the heroic instance. I did my first heroic gundrak with 17k HP on my tank not def capped and 2 resto + 2 elemental shamans spamming heals all the time.

Disagree totally. there is no point having a feral druid in this team, and Resto druids are far too preemptive rather than reactive healers, which do not make them ideal for people whos attention is being pulled in multiple directions.

Priest healers are far far superior for healing a 5man than a druid, I have plenty of both, and have run 3 5man teams and a 10box team with a resto druid, and didn't like it at all. Do not go this route, not recommended.

Pick another ranged DPS that has good synergy with your group.

Thanks for the replies. I will definitely have a prot pally as its the only tank I have ever known. To anyone knowledge has someone compiled a list somewhere of what buffs stack and which do not? Trying to avoid doubling up when choosing specs. For example, I read (haven't tested) that winters chill from a frost mage does not stack with boomkin aura or elemental oath.

I think only the Boomkin aura and Elemental Oath overlap. This site is helpful for checking
