....Really? Did you have to ask if an i7 would be good for multiboxing?..
Yes... It will multibox. It will multibox EXTREMELY well. I doubt you'll be able to find stuff that it can't rip up (in the course of normal usage. ) Also, your chip may not overclock to 4ghz easily. You'll also need to consider cooling. Do you want air, or do you want water, and the extra work that entails?
Eyefinity: No. they don't have to be the same size, they should all be running at the same resolution, and you'll need an active DVI to DP adaptor. There's also the matter of bezel sizes/screens not matching up. So while identical monitors aren't required, they're encouraged. On another note, just be because you can use six monitors (2x5770 = 6 drivable displays, 4xDVI/2xDP) doesn't mean you have to create an eyefinity group. Hook up some extra monitors and have one client per monitor, if you wish.
As far as software, I HIGHLY recommend isboxer, if only for its ability to offload work to other GPUs. While WoW is not graphically intensive, and you may be able to run all clients at 60FPS all settings ultra, you wouldn't be able to run at those settings all the time. Now, offload half your clients to the secondary gpu and it's almost assured you'll have amazing performance every. You've got the hardware, why not use it? Since you're only thinking of quad boxing, I wouldn't worry too much about getting more RAM right now. Now, if you start doing other things and end up using your page file, then by all means, get more. But also: running more ram may affect your overclock.
Is that SSD going to be your system drive, wow drive, or both? Either way, expect some nice performance out of that thing.
Ualaa, Why do you always type one sentence per line? What did paragraphs ever do to you?
So I hear you like mudkipz.
