Default FoS - Bronjahm down in 8:34

LOL...beat that. 8 minutes, 34 seconds for my 5-pally group to kill Bronjahm on normal. Seal of light on the rets means they CANNOT BE KILLED. I was laughing my ass off by about 5 minutes into the fight. Finally got the timing down on dragging the soul fragments away and killing them with IWT for my 1100dps rets to whittle him down.

    hahhahahhaha

So what you're saying is there is no enrage time or that it's less than 10 minutes?

Nice man, i play melee though not (all) ret pallies... this has been an easy fight for me but my guys are putting out a little bit more dps than yours. I just dps through the healing he does to himself.

8 minutes sounds so painful =P

did you 'need' to use the seal of light. . .?
my teams not 'that' great and I did it yesterday with seal of corruption / sacred shields.
fight sure does take for ever but (I don't kite away corrupted souls.. just dps through it)
once I get him to like 60-70% pop wing n burn him outa the phase 1. then phase 2 is cake.

I do not recall the time it took for my group but grats ^.^

Well, considering this was the first time I've set foot in the new ICC 5-mans, I was feeling my way along carefully. With a better understanding of things now, I could probably do SoC for the extra DPS on him. With his AoE shadow spells, though, I'm not sure my poor noobs with 17k HPs will live long enough to kill him. They are basically in quest blues still, so until I get some badge gear and weapon upgrades on the rets, things are going to be slow and careful.

I just thought it was a funny counterpoint to the "Heroic <Boss X> down in 18 seconds!" movies.

I was in a similar situation to you - mostly quest blues, though I did get myself titansteel destroyers and the titansteel boots/helm for my gang - and you will easily be able to handle him with SoC on and without having to worry about his AOE - just make sure you have some "heal myself" macros on all your Retadins. Also the passive healing from having a judge light on him and Divine Storm going off regularly helps loads.

I think my first kill of him took about as long as yours did - I don't bother kiting the adds, I just try to DPS through them and it works pretty well. My DPS is now around 1250 usually, though I know I can pump out almost 2k if I don't have to worry about self-healing etc.

Honestly, I'm impressed that you didn't run out of mana when using SoL!

If you had made a movie of that 8 minute fight, I would have sat through it. Grats.

ahh I had no clue what your gear was like - your wow character list is to funk-a-licious for me.
But yeah when you get used to the fight I found it easy to just burrn em down

also I was thinking about heroic lol. that took me FOR EVER to kill him. (I downloaded gear score finally to check how my gear vs encounter is.. guess I am not so bad geared anymore at 4kgs on all (tank also))

    again grats!

    hehe, that's beautiful.

When I tried the champions in ToC with my all-druid group I didn't know how to stop Colossos from healing himself (though I'd try Hurricane and Warstomp now), and I didn't have the muscle to dps through it. The other two champs were down, and Colossos would ... just ... not ... die. It took about as long as your Bronjahm fight to finally run him out of mana and get down to the killin'. I wasn't laughing though.

This is awesome! I like seeing the other side of the spectrum from the "X boss died in 20secs"

I random tanked this fight a bunch of times through the dungeon finder, then dropped into a group that didn't have the dps to burn through the orbs, I had no idea when to kite LOL.... That run really helped me learn the fight for real instead of simply relying on brute force DPS.

Tanking content at/slightly below level is so much more than being a meatshield for a few seconds and then chain-pulling to the next boss..... I had no idea until that point hehe.
