    Default octopus config issues

    hi all

im new to multiboxing and iv recently downloaded octopus as it seems to be 1 of the few decent applications that are free.

i managed to set most of it up, in the sence that its broadcasting my keyboard commands, nothing else.

as far as i can tell i have set everything up as it should be, but clearly not lol. im having 2 issues:

each of my characters respond to my turn left and right at different rates, so i can be running along turn, and 1 of my chars will run away in the completely rong direction, the next issue is that none of my mouse movements or clicks are passed over to the other char even though i have set them to broadcast.

i imagin i just need to tweak a few little things but im nto sure what they are.

    any help would be appreciated

    thanks

    1. For the keyboard turn/move commands getting sent at different rates across instances, that has nothing to do with octopus. If you had two keyboards on two different machines and pressed the LEFT ARROW key on both, they would still turn at different rates even though it is all hardware. This will always be the case.
    2. As for the mouse keys not passing, double check that you have your mouse buttons added to the mouse list in the server tab and that the box labeled "clicks" in the status bar at the bottom of the octopus window is checked. Ideally, add a hotkey to the mouse click toggle and you should be able to easily turn it on and off.

Also, I presume you're using Octopus 1.3.8? I've used all versions but it's been a long time since I've used anything earlier than 1.3.5.

alright thanks ill check the mouse wen i get home, im not certain about the version, im assuming i downloaded the most recent version.

as for the keyboard part, im only using 1 PC and 1 keyboard and 1 mouse. so the input on both wow clients is coming from the same hardware and same settings as far as i know

    thanks for the help

maybe it would be easier to try using another piece of software and see if that makes difference.

if any1 could recommend a user frendly, easy to configure but free :P broadcasting application i cud multibox with

all i can think is that its the wow clients themselves that are setup differently (i cant think how, iv checked all the ingame settings are the same) or that octopus isnt passing commands through correctly

    cheers

That's what I'll probably move to when it gets a bit more feature-rich.
