Question Going from all spell to spell & melee - How?

So, I've got a triple shammy team that works great as they cast spells and take things down. That parts easy, including getting them to use different spells and such.

What I'm having a problem with is getting them to do melee. It's obvious that some people are using formations rather than just main + follow. How do you do that? I've thought about using a macro to move out of follow to surround the mob but I'm not entirely sure how to get them all to face an arbitrary point. I figure this is a solved problem for most people so I thought I'd ask here.

So, how do you get your toons to get into formation? How do you get your melee toons to actually go up and attack whatever rather than say "You're facing the wrong way." or "Target must be in front of you."

    Thanks,
    -Torin

If you want the toons to melee...

Ensure you have Click to Move (CTM) enabled in Interface Options > Mouse Options.
Then set an Interact With Target (IWT) keybind in Keybinds > Targeting Functions.

    Target the bad guy.
Assist so they all have the target of the active toon.
And then press your IWT key, which will have them all run into melee and start auto attacks.

If your team is ranged, and you just want IWT for facing..
You could have another key, such as S or Down Arrow to broadcast a stop movement.

    Default Interact with Target

Wow. That's really useful. I'd seen IWT in terms of quest turn-ins but hadn't thought of it for melee. Makes sense though.

    Thanks!

Just a tip if you are using casters and melee at the same time. Make a 2nd keybind for interact with target only on your melee. That way you can have 1 key to have everyone interact and another just for your melee so your casters don't come running in too.

Ualaa's guide covers this - in ISboxer I have amended my DPS button so on 1st press it does IWT for melee group only, and 2nd press it does DPS FTL (as normal). This needs another keybind with IWT for melee groups only. So what happens in WoW is:
    For melee: 1st press=IWT, 2nd press=DPS
    For Casters: 1st press = nothing, 2nd press=DPS

    And all on 1 hotkey!
