I have no friends anywhere else and Svper told me I could be in the "in" crowd.

I always played on a PvP server since the game came out. Just adds a bit more fun and excitement to the game. It might slow you down a bit as you level, but man, you make up for it 100 fold when you hit 80.
When people ganked me at level 1-70ish, I used to always think, better enjoy it now, cause when I'm 80, you're f'd.
Sweet* teams - <unGankable> - Kil'Jaeden US Alliance - 10x Shamans, 9x DKs 1x Pally, 10x Drews
I would have to say my favorite part is camping the Wintergrasp Spawn location ~20 minutes before the game starts and the opposing faction is depending.
About ~20-30 minutes before, lots of people starting zoning into WG and they spawn at the top of the stairs. Usually they want to try to do VoA before its too late or get ready for the battle. When they zone in, you'll see them long before they finished even loading. So you can kill them and loot their corpse before the even know what happened.
Eventually, some with try to take revenge, but I easily dispatched them. Finally, enough of them get organized and work together to try to take me down.
Good times.
I generally like PvP servers better because the player base is 'better at the game' in general. From the start of leveling in contested zones like Stranglethorn Vale you have to keep your camera on a swivel. If you don't, you're likely to get jumped over and over and over. This, in turn, forces a person to get better at being aware of their surroundings. On PvE servers you don't have to keep looking over your shoulder and you become accustomed to just staying 'tunnel visioned' at the single mob you're killing for that quest drop because there is no danger around you, no one to gank you.
I believe this directly relates to end game raiding. People who are more aware of their surroundings can generally get out of the 'fire' quicker and know WTF is going on during a fight. I back my statement up with WoWProgress [US] and WoWProgress [EU]. Look at the top 25 realms [or 50] of both regions...which server type are there more of?
So this is a main reason I deal with being ganked and what not during leveling, because when it comes time to find good players, without their heads in their asses, more of them can be found on PvP servers. This probably doesn't mean much to boxers since we are able to do our own thing for the most part, but I like raiding end game content solo on my main.
Everytime someone says that's how it'd be IRL I gotta chuckle and say you're a (insert race) in a floating city
Call me carebear but I'll take my PVE server. Enough people walk around flagged that I can choose to world PVP whenever the urge hits me. OR I can just turn my PVP on and someone will attack me before too long. I just enjoy having that control. If I'm trying to do something I don't want someone else slowing me down or completely stopping me.
I must admit if I do see someone flagged I will 4XStarfire them and instakill them rofl... Just too hard to resist. I've actually made more friends than enemies doing that, lol. LVL 1 ALT whispers WTF just hit me!
Well I have always played on PvE servers due to the fact I diden't wanna get ganked during my leveling.
Now i'm on a pvp server with the other multiboxers, and ill certainty look forward to my first raid on an alliance city.
I had a good laugh doing the "wrathgate" quest chain, at the dragon tower, I landed from the top floor, almost right on top of an alliance druid. He jumped into cat form ran away and hit stealth. For the fun of it I chased him around the tower a bit without killing him or attacking him.
I'm gonna have so much fun on this server.
And if I'm getting ganked on my lowbies, i'm sure someone will come and take down the alliance scum ganking me![]()

5x Druids = 5x FUN
PvE all the way here. I once rolled on the most unbalanced Oceanic server I could find at the time. I could barely got my team out of Honor Hold (was playing Alliance that time) it was so bad.
I can see the points people are making for PvP servers here, but for me, I'm a PvE'er - not much interested in PvP - so rolling on a PvP server would just be a bad choice for me.
...for when one toon just isn't enough...

I believe this is very true. However I play on a pve server for the simple fact that I afk a lot (being logged in into wow and maybe playing 20-30% of my login time, since i have to work a bit, answering client calls, ... on a pvp realm this would not be possible).
But i think that starting wow as a boxer from start (bout 6 months ago, without having played wow solo mode before), boxing all hc's first before pugging one and having played around 700 AV's in 4 months gave me the same 'education'. I find myself changing my camera all the time, to see what's going on. It's kinda like driving a car: you have people who drive on the high way 200 km in the same lane, and you have people who are used to drive in the city and constantly use their mirrors and can 'read' the traffic, and thus anticipate.
And that *awareness* gives me an advantage over many solo players on my pve realm while raiding. Some examples from my brief raiding career:
- rotface: people get the infection and then start to look where the kiter is in the room, while I always know where he is beforehand. It's easy to see who knows it and who doesn't by just looking how they react once infected.
- lady D: there are people who only react/notice when a spirit is close, and then there are others who see it coming and position themselves accordingly
- saurfang: there are people who just go stand anywhere where there is a free spot, but then there are others like me who always try to be close to a boomkin and a hunter. it's fun to see that another one wanted my spot and has resulted in a few funny whispers (damn mate, you have the safe spot now)
This is from my experience with casual raiders (often experienced ones from tbc & vanilla) and i find most avid pvp'rs or players who transferred over from a pvp realm mostly having a better reaction when shit hits the fan in a raid.
Everything that is fun in life is either bad for your health, immoral or illegal!
I enjoy being feared and hated
That said, I dont really quest, or even go out into the world much, unless to raid enemy cities, which can be done with the same effect as on a pve server.
When I do see enemies tho, I enjoy dropping down to kill them, or insta-gibbing them out of the air, then parachuting down to safety.
Leveling bloodsail rep by raiding Booty bay was also a plus, I did it on the day of the fishing tournie, so there were plenty of allies to piss off![]()
