I think it would be great, particularly as a general guide that individuals can tailor to their specific server and situation.

Imo, an exell spreadsheet of a list of mats costs vs AH prices is very simple and might help a lot of people. But i guess i'm not the average player, since i do know my way around the AH and can't say i've read anything new the last couple of months. Would still read it and see if i do find anything new
There are no "new" ways to make money, there never really are.
