Priest composition

Hey,

i am currently leveling another team, built using a tankadin, 3 shadow priests and a resto druid.

They are at level 67 currently, one of the shadows is a little bit ahead, level 72, because solo played him a little.

The dps of the shadow priests is.. well. horrible. The 67s do around 300-400 dps, the 72 does 700 dps.

I wrote clilck sequence macros for them, which cast

dp, vt, mb, sw : p and mf

in this priority order. every macros except mb got a [nochanneling] tag to get mf done before casting the other spell.

Possibly, shadow priests need to get mind sear first before being able to deal a usefull amount of damage?

Or is there anything i should change on my prio list?

Could post the macros if anyone would like to see them.

Hi there,

Mind sear is only useful in grp of 4 or more as it does not damage the mob it is cast on. I found I got the best dps by running two castsequence macros, one which ramped up the initial damage and then put on sw after 5 stacks of the shad power buff, and then a second one which did dp,vt,mb,mf,mf,mb,mf,mf,etc.

I can't remember how many iterations of this there ended up being but I do know that either dp got clipped short or vt was left off for an extra GCD but it didn't matter all that much. Being shadow priests, their damage needs to ramp up and you might find that you haven't got far into this rotation before switching targets so this is primarily a boss macro set.

For faster group kills you will need to hang on for mind sear, but try something like sw,vt,mind sear so that your target is dying alongside the rest of the mobs.
