My personal opinion is that it would indeed violate the TOS for the reasons stated above in this thread. I'd hate to see an event like this be used to throw Keyclone into a light where it can be used to violate the TOS and users suffer for it... unlikely I know but still, a small chance none the less...

i definately agree, this sounds like a GREAT idea, but i dont think its something that will work

First I want to say I love the idea but I don't see any way this could be within the TOS. The main issue is using other people's accounts to do it. I can't think of any argument that could be made where remotely controlling OTHER people's accounts through third party software would be acceptable to Blizzard.

Hmm obviously it being American servers is a problem for some of us but it should be good to see some videos.

Only a few points I'd like to mention though,

Firstly as well as people making the characters you will want them to create focus / follow macros etc and put them to specific keybindings otherwise it's probably going to fail or take you forever to set up.

Secondaly and maybe more importantly, the event will be wide scale and will obviously (well most likely) get a lot of attention.

What you are doing is against the EULA ? It's against the rules to have access / play someone else's account and although you will not be logging into those accounts you will be controlling them. I would gather this could be a very difficult situation and although I would love to see it I would make sure we have examined the EULA definitions on account sharing before anything like this is done. The last thing we want is 100 + accounts being banned and Dual-Boxing breaching the rules.

(I'm not stating it is against the EULA but questioning - Just in case it's not clear).

EXACTLY! lets not take any chances here.. if we are going to do this tho i think it would be a good idea to talk to a GM about it or get some kind of Ok

Two potential problems with using existing individual accounts:

1) ToS violation and ban.
2) Security and compromised account information. I don't mean Keyclone ripping our accounts, but someone getting inside the thing with the information we discuss openly here. WTS 4x gladiator shammy group, $$$$!

I think a load of trial accounts registered with a load of different IPs and then used on a load of different PCs via keyclone would work and not be against the ToS. Preparing a list of account names and passwords and assigning them to the community members who are happy to have their client installation and net infrastructure used for this is also trivial.

As far as responding to a GM query goes, you would have to have the people who provide the PCs monitor them and be in Voice chat with 'the controller', just to be able to do something about it.
