    Default X-Keys Foot Pedal

I have a X-Keys Foot Pedal and having trouble with it.

I recently wanted more key-binds, so I figured I'd reassigned my foot pedal keys to some modifiers.

That way I could hit ctrl with my foot and hit 7 with my hand. The result would be ctrl+7

However, it doesn't seem to be working on WoW.

I opened up my G13 profile editor and it can recognize the ctrl+7 just fine. So, I'm not sure why wow doesn't see it.

Not having one of these devices myself, my advice may be rubbish, however, I'd perform the following tests:

    - Bind all of the pedals to be shift (makes for an easy test)
    - Using a program like notepad or something check that each pedal works...(eg, will make the keypress of a standard letter appear in upper case when used...and lower case when not used)
    - Run wow and do the same test in a chat window.

If it works in the chat window then that would suggest that perhaps there's a keybinding issue with what you'd been attempting.

Outside that, hopefully someone else here can offer more insight.

make sure the software that controls the foot pedal is running as admin if you are in vista or windows 7. otherwise it wont get passed to wow.

The above poster was correct -- you need to run MacroWorks 3 as an administrator to pass keystrokes onto some software on Vista or 7.

Additionally, if you happen to be on a Mac, OS X doesn't allow modifiers to be combined with another keyboard's keys. So you could do Ctrl on the X-keys and you could do 7 on your normal keyboard, but you couldn't combine them for Ctrl+7. This is only the case with OS X, not Windows, and affects all keyboards.

Please feel free to contact me personally. I work for P.I. Engineering (we make the X-keys) in tech support and I'd be glad to help you troubleshoot. E-mail is amberm@piengineering.com and phone number is 517-655-5523 extension 19.
