You're lucky you are not playing EQ1; a single add can wipe you super easy. EQ1 mobs are WAY WAY harder then WoW mobs of the same realitive (your level vs. theirs) level. In wow you really hardly have to buff to win against a ton of mobs, in EQ you have to have every buff up or you are toast. And in EQ splitting is all you do mostly when you pull cause if you don't yur dead, I'm not sure if I have ever split a camp in wow.

Ya wow has really done a lot more right then EQ actually (no trains, real pvp) but does have downsides:

Way to easy leveling, Stupid looking cows for my mains ... (bleh).

EQ was like a real world, and death was around every corner (especially on Sullon Zek), wow is like a cartoon world .... but again they have done a LOT right. I mean EQ looks like what your would expect a real place to look like.

And dosnt EQ seem a LOT BIGGER then WoW something about the world scale to character scale in WoW seems off. In EQ it seems like your character is tiny compared to the world but in WoW yur character is huge.

WoW is Blizz looking at EQ and going what are the good parts and how can we make them better. What are the shitty parts and how can we make those better? Ok... now how can we make this more "user friendly/casual" (this is the largest target market for gaming)

    Thus wow was born....

I do miss having to run from your bind all the way back to your body naked and possibly dieing 3-4 times along the way. Playing a melee class with no bind or gate was also fun for traveling. Then the exp pen from dieing was pretty leet sauce when you had a priest clicker sell those rezes !

Then professions.... omfg don't even get me started on that. That's true grinding lol

Heh... spending two hours trying to get your body out of a dungeon, to the point where you didn't even care if you lost several DAYS worth of leveling as long as you got your corpse back, that was fun... once. Maybe. Dying in a safe area wasn't so bad, until you realized that you had forgotten to bind nearby, and now you had a 40 minute run + boat ride + run just to get back to your corpse.

I see it the way Toned does- WOW is what happens when people who played EQ a lot decided to remake EQ without all of the stuff that made you want to drown yourself in a bucket of bleach. I think they've pushed it farther than they needed to, but I'd rather run heroics in 15 minutes for easy epic loot than get caught running through Kithicor forest on my level 25 and realize that it just turned to night time. EQ brings back some strong feelings of nostalgia, but that's because I don't have to suffer through it anymore.

    I liked the EQ1 joke.

Two rangers, naked outside of a city...
Ranger 1 says, "Is this your bind point too?"

Everquest was a really fun game, but there's a reason why 95% of their player base has moved on to other games.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

You forget about lvling mages to lvl 55 and camping them in sleeper's tomb and veeshan's temple just so they could call of hero your raid down faster haha. Chars dedicated to nothing but sitting in a safe spot and summoning = win.

I remember when I was finally able to do it myself, felt like such an accomplishment.
