I bet you could put together a 16 core AMD for $3k. they are $300 for the 8 core, get two of them. $500 for the motherboard (dual processor support), $200 for the case $400 for the video card. Then the rest on HD and memory. 24 gigs ram would be about $700, another $400 or so for some nice HDs.

16 cores would be nuts!!! That's how I'd spend my $3k.

I know we're sort of a niche market, but did you really have to suggest a 16 core system to someone who (apparently, looking at previous threads) has already got an i5-860 (1156 equiv of a 920) system with 12GB of ram and a 5770? REALLY?

I mean, I know money is fun to spend and all, but use the space between your ears.

Why the OP wants a NEW five boxing computer when the one he has is PERFECTLY FINE is beyond me. Maybe instead of wanting/getting a completely new system he should look at improving his own. Looking at his own build it appears he has no solid state hard drives, so if he wanted to boost performance he should look into getting one/some and putting them into RAID 0. Oh, and you could overclock your CPU/GPU if you feel those are holding you back. (Hell, upgrade that GPU if you want)

You should think of other things you can waste your money on.
