it's way easier using pallies than casters. Never running out of mana and the constant trickle healing is enough. I did this with dk/pally team using a pally as the tank, no healer and it was cakewalk. Went back with druid tank, 3 shammies and a druid healer and couldn't beat it. The adds just kept getting off heals and when magtheridon came i still had 3 spellcasters and a couple infernals up. My casters were pretty oom by then and healer eventually got agro and just went poorly. I might try it again with some rogues or hunters and see if I can develop a second team that isn't so mana dependant.
The strategy you gotta do if you can't kill the adds before Mags. You just have to let the adds live and muscle your way through it.
Don't waste mana on the healer mobs. You can't kill them without some sort of interrupt/wound poison/mind numbing poison/mortal strike abilities. Position your team then kick back and gain as much aggro as possible with your tank while waiting for Mags. Just use enough mana to keep everyone topped off.
Then when mags wakes up just concentrate on him and you should have enough mana to get the job done. Not saying this is an easy strategy but it worked for me. First time I'd made the mistake trying to dust the adds and just ended up going into Mags with half mana.
I let the elementals beat on my shamans constantly so they can eat the water shields. Their damage is offset by the healing totems anyway. I usually just let 2 fire eles beat on the shaman until mags go down and just keep refreshing water shield as necessary. pally tank with 3 ele shams dps and ele heal. I come out of it with about half mana on my shams (spending mana tide once [50% mana] during the fight).
Like Jinkobi - i don't really care if i down all healer prior to activating mags. I just down whatever i can and then focus on mags. Last night I ended up with 3 casters and 2 eles after mags went down. My fight lasted 6+ mins. Not as good as last week but it's a no-rush/chill fight anyway.

"Patchwork should not be allowed in a BG"
Magtheridon is dead.
After trying the various methods here, and having zero luck at letting the channelers and the infernals live. I blew all cooldowns right at the start, Heroism, and a couple I had to dust off,Army of the Dead, and Fire Elementals. The channelers went down very easily. Then it was a matter of beating my mana regen. The shaman stood around a bit, but my mage and priest finished him off.
Thanks for all the strat ideas.
/Hats off
got it down too in 2nd try with pal + 3 ele :-)
the shamans died once, because i forgot to heal
took me 19min since i forgot to refresh mana-shield and the shamans were constantly oom, so i had to use most of their mana for healing.
thx for the idea :-)
I started throwing my 80 rogue in my group in place of one of my DPS druids. WOW what a difference a little poison makes...
Just putting my rogue in the adds went down very fast and then it was just Mags and me. With no adds the difficulty level went down to nothing, lol.
GIEF heroism!!!!!11 My dk - 4x druid team just can't kill channelers maybe one if i'm fully buffed and i blow all my cd's... and with adds my healer needs to use too much nourish/regrowth to my other druids so she runs out of mana and my dps starts to drop down
Try and time your innervate where you can get it off twice throughout the fight. Also that flask that regenerates mana helps quite a bit and isn't very expensive. If you know you can't kill the channelers then just save your mana for Mags.
The damage you take varies each fight because of the ceiling falling, number of adds getting off the tank, and if you're in the wrong place then you take a big hit and waste a ton of mana.
well let's see how it goes after next reset :P still have few good toughts for heal/dps rotation, gears etc... repair costs for this week about 2k :P one 1000 for mags and other for bwl :P
