Protection Paladins in Arena

I saw a video here of someone that did 3s with three protection paladins in ret pvp gear with 1h and shield.

Has anyone tried 4 or 5 prot pallies for 5s yet?

It seems that it is quite viable. (protret as some call it)
HoR and SoR hit for a lot, and you'll be a lot harder to kill, though I'm not sure how much difference it will make to not have the extra healing from divine storm/instant flashes, the prot talent that gives spellpower from strength will certainly help if you get to stop to get a cast off every now and then.

Any thoughts or experiences?

So I'm surprised to not have seen any more prot teams in arena here after the 3s one.

Is it just because everyone used their quel delar for the 2h already?

I would like to see if protret might be more viable for pally arena teams than regular ret before devoting my pallies quel's to either 2h or 1h. (note that in my case I also have to level them up first, but I'm sure someone else might have a more immediate use for the information).

I'll be trying it. I have 5 hilts, and am getting pushed to 1800 in 2's so... i will have 1800 wep for ret spec and can use the hilt on 1h sword.

Well, the 1800 rating 1h would be better than hilt for protret too i'm sure, but I suppose getting one weapon from arena points is expensive enough already.
