everything ends flat you have to add the round cap, and IIRC you can not add both Extension top and the round cap do to the way the desk if built. On the left hand version the left hand side is shallower than right side, and on the right handed version it is shallower on the right than left. My wife and I have both a right and left do to who we have our office setup.
