The LFD system really favors tanks - and tanks really make the team. My advice? Spend an evening or 2 just doing LFD on your tank. This will show you just about every fight, and get him geared ASAP. Get him all of Tier9 except the headpiece - and then get the 75 Triumph token headpiece in Dal. You should be pretty set at that point and you'll find all of the heroics much easier and faster.
