Default new team just for bgs and world pvp

thinking of making a horde pvp team. right now thinking 4 booms and one resto shammy for heals. shammys there for totems to help with fears. figured the druid should be able to do peartty good dps on the go and able to get around. all ready have a shammy teams and a DK/ret team and druid/hunt x3/priest team. trying to pick a good team no matter what bg i'm in. guess i like the druid becouse of the battle rez and travel form and innervate . in bgs i found its nice to have more than one person in your team that can rez. all so thought about SP. but not sure they would work out as well as booms.

lol need some thing to do to fill the time between now and nov or so when cat. comes out =)

dk + 4 rets are more devastating in bg's and world pvp than anything else I've played or heard of. Even 4 shaman in top gear right now are lucky to kill the same number of targets. With my melee team I can take on anywhere from 5-15 at a time. Even when things go bad (lot of cc, fear bombs) I still take 2-3 people with me before I wipe. The same scenario on the shaman would yield maybe 1 kill, if any. I can imagine 4-5 boomkins being completely controlled in many situations to the point where you won't even pull 1 kill. That's how it's gotten at this point in the expansion

Agree. Currently DK/Rets are like a chainsaw.

Agreed. For BGs DK+rets is king. My record was like 25 KBs at balinda in one AV completely by myself. And I was not even inside with Balinda, I waited for them outside in front. Of course they came in waves of 5-10, not all 25 at a time, but still.

I had a ton of trouble with 4 pallies and 1 dk. Fear was a killer in BGs where you're fighting 15 people and 1/2 have some sort of fear. I mean you're sitting there feared for like 10 seconds after you use your trinket and bubble it's nuts. I couldn't even hold a tower vs 2 priests because they'd just fear me out.

I've have much more fun with my Shaman and do MUCH better with my Shaman in BGs than my dk and 4x pally.

I do get rolled by 4x pallies and 1dk on my shamans in arena though, but not a whole lot else.

The only thing to fear, is fear itself.

DK/Rets don't have much fear protection on their team.
That is basically their only big weakness.

Aside from that, they're a tower of strength.
With a lot of cleansing and healing power on the team.
    Emergency buttons etc.

Not saying they're the only team which will be viable for battleground/world pvp style play.

Looking at 4x Boomkin + 1x Resto Shaman...
You'll likely need to approximate the Eclipse proc, which will be a huge boost over ignoring it, but fall far short of ignoring it.
Go with strings of Wrath x3/x4, followed by Starfire x3 or so, when single targeting anyone/thing.
You'll have a massive amount of AoE power between Force of Nature, Fire Elemental, Hurricane and Starfall.

I'd be tempted to go with a 2nd or possibly a 3rd shaman.
Staggering the Tremors is stronger fear protection, which is one of the larger weaknesses of a box team.
An Elemental Shaman adds a massive amount to any caster based team.
If you were to go with Elemental (Shaman), Resto (Shaman), Balance Druids x3, that's how I'd probably spec them.
However, if you had three Shaman on the team, I'd spec them all Elemental, and not use the Druids for healing at all, since that drops them out of Moonkin.
Not sure you want to change your team dynamic that far, but I'd really look at an Elemental Shaman on a caster team.

Play what you'll find to be fun, not what others say will be the strongest option.
But realize going in, what your strengths and weaknesses will be.

I'm messing around with both 5x Feral and 4x Affliction + 1x Discipline.
Neither is the DK and 4x Ret, but both are fun.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

When it comes to Bgs, you are only as good as your team mates. If your team mates suck you are going to lose no matter how many killing blows you get. Bgs are objective based and not kill based, with only maybe 1 exception and that is AV. Yet these days AV is a zerg rush and you might not even see an alliance/horde player the whole game.

    Play what you want

Edit: Thinking about this for a few mins. I would have to say the best BG mutibox team would be a Warrior( tank/Arms) + 3 healers( 1 resto shammy, 1 holy pally, 1 disc priest or maybe druid). It gives you everything you need in Bgs....Need someone in wsg to walk the flag back? Done. Need some one to tank Vann or Drek?(WHO TANKING?>!) Done. AB/Eots/sota/Ioc all really good for this combo and no worse than ele, boom or rets/DK. Affliction lock would work also minus the tanking of van/drek

Also, every single one of those healers I put on the team can also do a bit of range dps minus the druid in tree form, keeping the druid out of tree might not be a bad idea for dps/cyclone.

Cant tell ya how many times I have seen idiots attacking the dps instead of attacking the healers. Healing wins BGs.

yeah one reason i was thinking druid is becouse you got heals and such you can use to help our team mates out. that and do not want to relvl an dk/ret team. might have to try gearing my ally dk/rets and see if i can put up with the ally nubs in my battle group. think for now will take it slow with my druid/shammy team do instances and bg when i feel like it.
