I personally have done VERY few collection quests and still easily hit 80 and that was initially without the BoA exp bonus. The rule I used for the collection quests was 1. does it open up a chain of quests, 2. Is it 100% drop rate, if it meets those criteria I did the collection quests and in the case of the chain quest I made sure the chain was at least another 3 - 4 quests.
If you do both sides in Northrend there is more that enough xp once you play fully rested (although with a 5 man team I am not sure how much difference that makes).
My last point would be, get yourself a guide of some sort, whether it is free or a paid one, this way you will know if you are on target level wise, if you are lagging a little ,run a dungeon and it will catch you up fast.
    Just my 2 cents

Very true, which reminds me that an outland and northrend quest guide (even just a summary of the quests names and chains) would be of great help to the mb community. I have a collection of spreadsheets that i used, but i forgot most of the part. Think other people went through the same pain. If we put all our notes together, such an overview would be rather easy to make.

Personally I use Zygor Guide (paid app) and it's latest version will skip quests once they get too low etc. For me it was a simple case of looking at the guide and if I was at step 200 out of 220 in a level and yet I was only half way through a level then I knew I needed to grind. In the actual leveling though, most times I was ahead of the guide and so this allowed me to skip sections which I knew would lead to collection hell lol.
I think the most useful guide for most boxers would be listing which collection quests are a requirement and which can be skipped, this would save a lot of time.

I would guess that with all the boxers here , it would be simple to throw together a list of quests to do or that was done from say level 10 - 80. I personally raf to level 60. Its worth the 20.00 any day. So to create a "Mod" or "guide" to go from 60 / 80 and not include collecting quest would seem to be easy.

Hell, offer Zygor a link up on the top bar between Keyclone and ISboxer and he would prolly write it exclusivly for db.com.

On that note.... does anyone know where to find that program (not really a program but I dont know what to call it) where it takes your text and converts it to be readable in a mod for wow. Ive seen it but I cant find it now. You basicaly take your typed page and it adds the code to make it a readable lua file

Starbuck_Jones has the start of an Outland guide, on these forums.
It is from the alliance perspective, and covered 60-68 I believe.
Basically Hellfire, Zangamarsh, and I believe Nagrand.

My last two sets of toons (BoA heirlooms), do Hellfire, Zangamarsh, Terrokar, Nagrand, Blade's Edge Mountains.
And ding 70th, very early into BEM; could head to Northrend in early Nagrand, except that I'd rather level a little slower in zones I prefer to faster with many more of the despised Northrend Collections.

I've used the Brian Kopp guide for 1st-70th.
And the Extreme Leveling guide for 70th-80th.

They're both fairly decent as written guides.
And come with an in-game addon with a pointy arrow telling you which cardinal direction to move to next.
Which by the way, can suck in classic wow without a flying mount...

James Guides is free, and almost as good as the pay guides.
Also the pay guides, don't have any problems with doing collections which can royally suck when boxing.

just google Jame's Horde leveling guide. or alliance if thats your side.

For Northrend, he wrote Borean Tundra, Howling fjord, and Dragon blight. on the site, others have some for Zul'Drak and Icecrown I know. They work in the addon Tour Guide.

The Extreme leveling, was a pay guide.
At least at the start of WotLK, when I got it.

Compared to the Brian Kopp guide, Extreme was noticeably faster on the 2nd run through.
But did not give nearly as much information as the Kopp guide.
So the first run through it, I spent a lot of time looking for things.
The stacking is more efficient, if you know where to go for each next step.

The free guides, like Jame's is probably the way to go.
From what I've seen, there might be a slight difference from one guide to another.
But generally speaking, the pay guides cost 20-30 bucks.
And aren't really that much better.
Although some of them have an in-game addon and mark your map etc.
But Questhelper or Carbonite can do the same for free.

Ya. I used kopps for a while then he added the ingame part. I tried that for longer and it worked nice but it hasnt been updated for a while now and the site's links no longer work.

I dont mind paying for a guide at all I just wanted to get som ideas as to what everyone or most were using that was worth the cash. :
