    Default Macaroon... any drawbacks?

Before I go nuts and completely reconfigure my toons (prot pally/resto druid) using macaroon, I want to know if there might be any reason I'd regret it.

    Problems with longer macros etc...

I've noticed that a lot of macros here seem to require a macro addon lengthen to work, so I'm more than interested in making the switch, I just want to know if there is a reason I shouldn't.

If you using Jamba-Macro, you might push for using that as your macro repository and distributor.

The only glitches I have with it is when I switch specs on a character and inturn then switch a variable on the master and want to push out a marco set based. It can take 10 or so minutes for the healer to get the healer macro set.

I used macaroon since I started but its not being updated so ...

You can do more with IsBoxer click bars then with macaroon but it takes a long long time to get everything the way you want it, of course I have like 8 classes if you just running shaman it will go a lot faster.

I think I might try that, I'm finding the macaroon interface difficult to you. It has a gui, but I have to use slash commands to create a new bar, and slash commands to add a button to the bar?

Thus far it seems like I'd only keep it around for macros I plan to not put on a bar at all.

Is there a nice guide to using the macro interface?

Also what in the world does "FTL" stand for?

i used macaroon for a long time with Keyclone, and you do end up spending a long time on macros/bars etc... you can right-click on the macaroon button next to minimap to create bars etc... i never used the slash commands.

I ended up going back to default UI simply because a) vehicle controls and b) shaman totems were not being displayed as I wanted and it was a hell of a lot easier with the default. Of course IS makes everything easier.

I've been using Macaroon for a long time now. However I do not use any macaroon action bars, i'm only using it's "Storage" area. I have most of my multiboxing shortcuts and macros there. IMO it's really handy to use. You can easily arrange/swap your macros.

Macaroon is a strong tool... but it is no longer maintained and no one has come forward to maintain the project.

So, at some point it will break.
I'd guess with the release of Cataclysm, assuming fairly significant changes to the API.
Who knows, it might still work post Cataclysm, or someone may decide to fix/maintain it.

Personally, I'd lean towards tools which will likely be maintained.
Rather then building your set up around something, which eventually will break.

so far macaroon works perfectly for me.
I have all my spam macros in it. (in the worst case bindpad or any other addon which had macros >255 can do that function. (the macros are also easy to be extracted from the macaroon.lua in case something breaks and macaroon does not want to start up.

Vehicle bars just need to be set up right. (but then you can also use the std. blizz vehicle bars (what i am doing as well)

(remember also to set up the pet bar for the last boss in DTK, which is I think a glitch in the way blizzard set up the things)

I currently have macaroon replaceing my action bars, because I start my chars from different folders for different interfaces. e.g. single player on some toons.
I found the server side storage of button fuctions and keybindsa quite annoying on the default action bars.

macaroon solved this (remove all spells from the std action bars - done

    cheers
