Is it against TOS?
Because I told by somebody in my guild to keep it to myself. I pay for both accounts so why wouldn't be allowed?

It's allowed, I've had GM's tell me they play 5 at the same time![]()
It's allowed but I would be careful about using software that let's you control the second account while it's in the background. Alt-tabbing back and forth is perfectly fine but playing two accounts where one is in the background getting input injected borders incredibly close to automation and it looks like automation to any software detection.
The thing I was thinking of is, what if a GM whispers the account you have running in the background? It would suck to get an account ban even tho you were there and just couldn't see the whispers.
I run my two accounts on two different monitors so I will see every GM whispering me if that should be the case
Trust me when i say a GM wont whisper you for running 2 WoW's on the one machine.Originally Posted by Nyugen

When I started using two accounts, one of the first things I did was to use them to quickly transfer crafting materials. Since I didn't have a second PC set up at the time, I was alt-tabbing between the two. One thing I noticed was the icons for the items I was trading were different or missing on the second account. If I moused-over the items, it gave the correct item info, but the icon had changed. I chalked it up to resource locking on the system, but I haven't seen anyone else relating that experience.
Has anyone else experienced this?
nope, I use two wows on 1 machine and no problems at all!
As far as I know the only way to violate the TOS in regards to multi-boxing is by using 3rd party software and bot'ing. Which makes me question using Multiplicity or Synergy... has anyone had issues with Blizz in regards to either of those titles?

I noticed in one of the hardware/software threads a similar discussion, and it appears its legit for the time being

As far as running multiple instances of WoW, I've been using 2+ on the same PC since launch and have never had an issue with players or GMs. Its not by any means effective though, other than for casual support, item exchange, crafting, etc.
Rather than taking risks and speculating I have asked for official advice from blue on the WoW forums. The post is http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...picId=82081830 for those interested.
