Hi Gomotron;

I have never played WoW myself, but one of my kinsmen referred to it as a fast-paced version of LotRO. He described LotRO as being much more forgiving of mistakes than WoW.

So, at first, your new LotRO group may seem a bit boring (and can become a PITA with the "gather" quests--unless you just avoid those) but things get really fun as you get to the higher levels.

As stated previously, I only run three toons myself but I find the challenge very rewarding and enjoy the heck out of my game time.

In fact, I just hit 65 last night with my RK trio. Now, it's all about gearing them out and finding those perfect rune stones.

One thing I have discovered (which makes fighting elite mobs both annoying and exciting) is that the combat table for misses/hits/avoids/etc, is tied to the mob rather than the attacker, and that the way Turbine coded it ties the hit/miss to a particular combat round and not an attacker's attack. In other words, if you throw five Ceaseless Argument(s) at a regular mob which you sent your tank at--it's dead. If however, the wonderful routine that Turbine coded decides it's time for the mob to dodge, ALL five generally miss. It's as if the mob had become Neo and we are the agents. The counter is that a good hit by all five can obliterate an impressive target.

Have fun with it!
