Thread: Vilya boxers

    Default

    Hi Guys;

Thanks for the replies. I've read a lot about Brandywine and Silverlode having several boxers. I've stumbled across one other boxer on Vilya in-game (while playing my three BAs Creep-side ) but he has had issues since the SoM release.

I definitely couldn't consider switching servers since I am the kinship leader for my kin--despite our dwindling size.

Now, I'm just leveling as quickly as possible to get to some actual fun content--I have yet to do the SG six-man. I've presently got two group makeups that I run with in PvE:

    65 Hunter
    51 Hunter
    51 Mini

    40 RK
    40 RK
    40 RK

I'm really enjoying the versatility of the RKs and am contemplating leveling them up to 65 before finishing the second Hunter and the Mini.

I'd like to see how they'd handle SH easy mode...being how squishy they are.

    Default Progressing and having fun

I ran into another multi-boxer on Vilya--out in Lothlorien doing the rep grind--and we had a quick chat. That individual stated that he/she had come across another boxer who was part of a multi-boxing kin. So, they are out there.

Well, I got my mixed team a couple of levels but, as you can see by the numbers below, I've actually been focusing on my RK trio.

    Current status:

    65 Hunter
    53 Hunter
    53 Mini

    63 RK
    63 RK
    63 RK

I've also started a trio of Wardens (at level 12 now). It will be interesting to see just how well things go with the dependency on gambits.

Eventually, I would like to see how effectively I can manage a mixed group (especially for some of the instances) but, for now, I have to say that is is so much easier having three toons (more or less) do the exact same thing and have the exact same quests. It makes for rapid leveling.

The one thing I don't care for is Skirmishing as a small fellowship. The difficulty is increased so dramatically between solo and small fellow Skirmishes that I have found it difficult to complete most within any decent amount of time (and without significant losses).

Two days ago, I got to the Strike Against Dangelor Skirmish book quest and thought "Gee...this will be cake with my trio. I fly through there solo--it's my fastest Skirmish on my Hunter". Of course, the exponential increase in difficulty made that thought a fleeting one very quickly.

There were easily three times as many mobs with each wave and, to top it off, the devs decided that the morale on these mobs should also be increased by at least two to three times (dependent on mob). Wouldn't you know it, I get my first encounter and around the corner comes Ruinglad (the mob that reflects fire damage and wipes you in seconds). He wiped me first try, so I respawned, and came back. This time, I sent my Protectors in and just spam healed them--problem solved.

Still, I never completed that instance as a group--I had to disband and run each toon through solo to complete the book quest. The reason? The last boss (who is a quick solo fight) now spawns waves of fire grim that just obliterate any effort of taking the boss down. My Protectors grab maybe half of the adds, leaving the other half to blind/interrupt everything I try to cast--not fun.

I did, however, do my first GS run with the RKs. I have none of the Moria gear and I was running just with a level 65 Warden from my kin (also without any good gear). Still, we manged to get to and defeat Igash (albeit with several wipes) in easy mode and get our five Medallions of Moria. While it was nice to triple-HoT the Warden through most anything (except when he insisted on standing in the fire), it was really nice to throw damage. I swear that the math used for determining hits/misses/crits/devastates is screwy. Usually, all three off my guys will miss a shot at the same time (as if the mob is Neo, dodging bullets in real-time). However, when they hit big...they ALL hit big.

I had a triple-devastate with Epic Conclusion that allowed me to single-shot a 12k mob. It felt really great. A moment like that can make hours of trial and error failing left and right worth it.

Anyway, happy hunting to all and be sure to share your success stories, gripes/complaints, oddities, good group makeups, etc. with us all.
